Agamemnon3 - Not at all, just the opposite infact and thanks for all your efforts recently in painstakingly finding results, its less than a week now anyway before we can roll up our sleeves and get down to business.

Tuesday July 25th

Dunstable Town v Barnet  0-5 (aban. 75m)

Agamemnon3 - Thanks for picking this one up, a groundhopper from another Forum was present:

Dunstable Town 0-5 Barnet (abandoned 75 min)
PSF - Adm £5/£3 Prog £2 Att 182 h/c

Not much traffic on the M1/M25 and arrived in the large car park in plenty of time. Decent set-up for Step 5 with a covered stand on far side, small covered area behind far goal and the clubhouse/tea hut/changing rooms on the near side.
Barnet sent a stronger team than I'd expected, and played some nice stuff going 4-0 up inside half an hour. Keeper Walker had to make a smart point-blank save shortly after HT to preserve the clean sheet but it was soon 0-5 following some nice work down the left wing leaving a tap in.
Things then started to take a bizarre turn - firstly a badly mistimed tackle from Barnet's new signing Zak Brunt led to a Dunstable player being carried off and, after much deliberation, the ref chose to send Brunt off. Things got increasingly niggly with both the Official and some Barnet players getting upset, and on 75 Bees skipper Gorman directed a few choice words at the Ref after a home player wasn't pushed back 10 yards at a free kick.
I'm guessing to some extent here, but it appeared that the ref either threatened to send off Gorman or demand that he be substituted, at which point the Barnet team left the field and didn't reappear. All very strange for a PSF.
Indoors therefore earlier than expected @ 22:05.

Saturday 29 July

Holmer Green v Winslow United (kick off 3.00pm)

This one is off this afternoon, Holmer Green don´t sound too happy so I assume Winslow United cried off at the twelfth hour:

As if Holmer Green's preparation for their first ever CCL season could not get worse after three big defeats? Now comes news that Saturdays (29/7) game versus Winslow United is also OFF.

Just a small point regarding the previous post -- despite the impression given, it was Holmer Green who pulled out, rather than Winslow United.

And with that out of the way, here is what I have been able to dig out this evening.

Thursday July 27th:

Potton United v Ampthill Town   3-2

The 61 FC v Stopsley United   1-2

AFC Welwyn v Hendon XI   0-7

Friday July 28th:

Hemel Hempstead Town v FC Romania   5-1

Saturday July 29th:

Ampthill Town v Biggleswade United   3-1

Arlesey Town v Harefield United   1-0

Baldock Town Reserves v Biggleswade United Reserves   1-1

Belstone v Letchworth Garden City Eagles   2-2

Blisworth v Northampton Sileby Rangers   1-0

Broadfields United v Baldock Town   5-2

Colney Heath v Northwood   3-1

Dunstable Town v Risborough Rangers   1-4

Garsington SSC v Aston Clinton   4-2

Harpenden Town v Royston Town U23   4-1

Huntingdon Town v Chatteris Town   3-0

Kempston Rovers v New Salamis   0-0

Leighton Town v Aylesbury Vale Dynamos   3-2

London Lions v London Samurai Rovers   3-1

Milton Keynes College Football Academy v Raunds Town   2-3

Oakham United v Eynesbury United   1-2

Oxhey Jets v Leverstock Green   1-5

Park View v Stansted   cancelled

Pitstone & Ivinghoe v Irchester United   1-4

Rayners Lane v FC Romania   cancelled

Stony Stratford Town v Northampton ON Chenecks   cancelled

Stony Stratford Town v AFC Oakley   2-4

Tring Athletic v Berkhamsted Raiders   1-4

Tring Corinthians v Knebworth   cancelled

Tring Corinthians v Wingrave   5-1

Totternhoe v Langford   3-2

Waltham Abbey Reserves v Cockfosters Reserves   1-6

Wellingborough Whitworth v Shefford Town & Campton   1-0

AFC Welwyn v Cockfosters   1-4

And I've just realised that neither Kempston Rovers nor New Salamis are SSML -- it doesn't matter, it was still 0-0...

Saturday July 29th

Dunstable Town v Risborough Rangers   1-4

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Creasey Park:

Dunstable Town 1 Risborough Rangers 4. Friendly. Spartan Midlands Premier v Combined Counties North. Admission: £5. Programme: £2 (very good). Crowd: 90 approx
Creasey Park is a smart, modern venue (with a grass pitch - hurrah!), which no doubt bears little resemblance to the ground where Jeff Astle, George Best and Kerry Dixon played for Dunstable.
The tea bar menu has a nod to the club's past - you can buy a tray of 'Barry's Fries'.
Dunstable itself is a surprisingly interesting place. You get the impression a successful club here could play much higher up the pyramid. Though, of course, the proximity of Luton Town will always affect attendances.
These teams finished fourth and third respectively in last season's SSML, Risborough now having moved sideways to the CoCo North.
The visitors look like they will be a force this season with names in their squad who have played at higher levels.
They took the lead early in the game when the ball was cut back to Lewis Toomey to score from close range. Toomey took a kick in the process and was immediately subbed.
A couple of minutes later it was 2-0, a low shot from Harry Scott went across the keeper.
Visiting goalie Connor Hunt was needed to make a couple of good saves as Dunstable tried to claw their way back into the game.
However, just before the interval the visitors made it 3-0 when a low cross was sliced by a home defender to Jamie Robinson who converted at the far post.
Dunstable made a better fist of it in the second period and pulled a goal back on 68 minutes through Luke Dunstan.
Then, with a few minutes left, a remarkable goal for Risborough. Dunstable had cleared an attack and Matt Peake-Pijnen, just inside his own half, smacked the ball back into the mixer. It bounced over home keeper Connor Coulson and nestled inside the far post.
