Two points or more from this match & Hornchurch combined would be a great return.

Not to say they we have a right to expect to win, but both of these games are winnable. Are we now at the stage where a draws against a side even lower than us and a mid-table team are considered "great"? Do we not believe that we can win either of these games?

Draw both and it'll be W2 D9 L9 from our last 20. 15 points from a possible 60. Great!

Every game is winnable and yes we have to believe we can win one or even both games.

But yes we are at the stage with our away form where any crumb of comfort i.e a point will be gratefully received.

For whatever reason we've become a team that only likes to play at home.

I’d be more then happy if the season just ended tomorrow..

It’s starting to feel like a slow painful death… serious questions need to be asked and answers found as to why we are so poor away? Is it worth playing the remaining away fixtures??!! The way it’s going we’re just about stay up.

Enfield and Aveley at home are simply must win games, could quite simply see us freefall in this form.

It’s fair to say the remaining away matches are a write off don’t expect any points. So it’s vital we get a couple of wins in our remaining home matches to make us safe, sooner the better as none of us want to be looking over our shoulders with 2 matches to go…

I bet Ashley Smith regrets handing out so many long contracts as it looks like major changes are needed before next season.

Annoying thing is this squad can beat the best (thrashing the league leaders 4-0 recently), but it’s the away form and consistency that are the main problems.

Sleep walking into a relegation fight, just like Dover, Havent & Waterlooville, Dulwich Hamlet , Dartford, Taunton signs have been there for far too long our early season form means nothing now , we've seen this coming , squad inbalance has been obvious all season and addressed too late , now with injuries suffered which can't be accounted for , we are in trouble

Depending on what happens on Saturday vs Hornchurch, but the Enfield game could yet be a relegation six-pointer. Unbelievable.

After tonight's routine away defeat, that's now 2 wins and 7 draws from 19 games, 13 points from 57. In that time we couldn't beat fellow strugglers St Albans, Welling or Bath. And we're doing well to get a corner-kick away from home.

Big games against Hornchurch, Enfield and Weymouth to come before the going gets even tougher with Torquay and Boreham Wood. Teams below us beginning to pick up points.

The club appears to be living on a wing and a prayer. Academy players making up the numbers on the bench (again).

Thank heavens we're already safe, or I'd be really worried! 🤣

I've been saying this since Christmas. We ARE in the relegation fight. Not "if".

We’re 11 points clear still so I wouldn’t say we’re in a relegation dogfight. But things can quickly change especially with some tricky fixtures still. I think we’ll be ok but only just.

Glen, we were saying the same in 1993/94 (albeit without social media). We looked safe, but couldn't win for toffee, then lost away at Halifax on the final day of the season and went down.....

Hope I'm wrong, but we have seen this before.

Wasn’t that the season we got reprieved?

Yeah, think it was actually. Bit close for comfort though, wasn't it? And this season is starting to get too close for my liking!

You are both wrong; we were indeed relegated from the GM Vauxhall Conference to the Diadora Isthmian League at the end of the 1993/94 season, having had a fast start and being top in August.

I recall a similar fast start at the start of the 2000/01 season, again we were top in August but this also ended in relegation. Is this beginning to sound familiar? 😀😉

As for the reprieve I think you are thinking of the 2007/08 season, where we were reprieved from relegation from the Southern League Division One South & West to either the Hellenic League or Combined Counties League.
