Trouble at mill

Well, Stag Meadow actually. It seems the Windsor fans took exception to the programme notes from Monday's game about Rebels fans doing the majority of minor jobs around the ground.

I'd suggest that nobody adds to the thread as this will only inflame a seemingly bitter tiff that's going on but it makes quite amusing reading at.. http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/forum.jsp?id=297

Ian, your comments are inflammatory by suggesting ALL Windsor fans were upset by the remarks in the programme and that Slough supporters have carried out the majority of minor jobs around the ground.

The facts are that a small minority of Windsor supporters were not happy with the comments in the programme whilst a small minority were also very pleased with said comments!

As for the majority of minor jobs, the gate to the match officials dressing-room was a direct request from Slough, your club having been reported by refrees due to the actions of your supporters at the conclusion of several matches this season, something that has NEVER occurred at a Windsor game! On the day the gate was being fitted there was a cherrypicker working on the new aerial in the car-park and Chris Sliski offered the driver a drink if he would allow our groundsman to use his vehicle to fit the nets (again not something that Windsor actually asked for!), and, finally, Chris, Roy M and a couple of others were at Windsor the morning after the Sunday gales that blew down part of the fence and offered to help with repairs which they carried out.

The fact is those jobs (apart from the gate) would have been carried out anyway and, while we are extremely grateful for the help given, it seems you are trying to score some Brownie points and stir things up a bit despite telling others not to get involved!

There is currently a very good working relationship between the backroom people at Windsor & Slough and I hope it stays that way, but it only takes the actions of a minority to ruin things very quickly so please be very careful with poorly-worded comments which are not fact-based.

If you would like to re-post having the decency to put a name to your comments then I will take the time to reply and refute half of the things you have accused me of. Until then, I shall treat your posting with the contempt it deserves.

Just to confirm ..that the work, that has been done at Stag Meadow has always been in full consultation with Windsor ! and for those who have helped from Slough, have never considered to make an issue of it....

We are there to help, if it needs to be done, we will do it....for the sake of both clubs....

In fact its the same people who used to do the work at Wexham Park stadium through the summer months !!!! and we don't have a problem to help...if we can........

cheers Chris
