Luckily for me my weekend starts at 07:30 on Friday morning, I also get to see the Sweden game as I dont start work until 16:00 on Sunday 2nd, and for the Nigeria match I finish at 06:00 in the morning and don't start again until 20:00 that evening. I hope I can be so lucky for the later stages.

Unfortunately I'll be watching it in a box in the main stand at Epsom Downs race course .

My staff will be in the pub opposite the office , as they will for all England games .

I'm sure any other reasonable employer would do the same (!!)

Next week is half term. Sometimes there's an advantage to being a slave of the education system, even if the stress leads one to masquerade occasionally as an 8 year old boy with a strange voice & fearsome vocabulary.

Yeah, the education system has major downfalls during the world cup - AS Music Technology exam during the Nigeria game

Sweden game at home, Argentina in room booked by insurer to entertain us ( I work for an IFA) and Nigeria in our office reception.

My lucky Manager will be watching the Argentina game at the ground, having won a Fantasy Footie competition run by Scottish Life. The prize was a full expenses paid trip to Japan, flying out on 4th and back on 12th, with VIP tickets for the game !!

And he also won a car in a Fantasy Footie Competition a couple of years ago, as well !!

I've suggested that should have been enough for him & perhaps he could be generous and donate the Japan trip to his hard working staff (at least thats my story & I'm sticking to it !)but it didnt work - I wonder why ???

I'm fortunate enough to be able to see all three games at home (Allthough not as fortunate as Dave M )

In the unlikely event we go through to the next round, i will be watching at a friends appartment in Marbella.

I'll be watching most of the world cup from an appartment in San Antonio Ibiza, no doubt still buzzing out of my head from the nights clubbing.

In a stunningly (nay gobsmackingly) liberated e-mail from my employers (Leeds Metropolitan University) the other day, they have decreed that football fans will be able to watch ALL World Cup games on large screens in four locations within the institution. Not only that, colleagues were also informed that flexible working may be negotiated around each game.

This is all the more remarkable considering most of our 'senior staff' are vegeterian eating yogas who live in windmills and normally hate anything that is regarded as boorish or loutish.

Maybe they've heard we're gonna win the dammed thing! - or more likely they've realise their 'Idol' Tony Blair is a footy fan.

Cynic Me? No way!

There are two threads that run to 2 pages which means more than 25 posts.
