Essex Senior Cup

We entertained Dagenham & Redbridge last night in the Essex Senior Cup.

Unfortunately we lost on penalties after 1-1 aet,

but it was a great night with a decent sized crowd (around 300) and a fantastic battling display by the Ilford side.

1-0 down at half time and down to ten men we feared the worst but SIMON MILLER drew us level and then with 10 minutes to go Anthony Jones missed a penalty !

It was there to be won.....oh well..

Spoke to John Still after the game and he praised the set up and team a lot.

Great to hear form a man of his experience.......

Promotion may be out of reach this year but we have a superb set of youngseters that bode well for the future.

Ah the famous Simon Miller. I think he has played for just about everyone.

He featured in our side under Amin Livett in 99/00 which had a run in the FA Cup. Part of the side broke up by Xmas but at one time we were playing five forwards like Brazil 1970. We had Simon Miller,Dave Fleming, Chris Rose, Trevor Paul, and Mervyn Abraham all in the same starting line up.
