Fa Cup 2nd round

Just out of interest we would have got Rochdake at home, as im sure youve probably all seen.

V interesting that the 2 remaining Ryman clubs get drawn together, what a chance for them to get to the third round.

What a waste though, to have one of the last remaining non league team being Yeading with no fans. Apparently their attendance on Saturday was 500, and 300-400 of those were away fans. Any other small club would have so many excited fans, but they could probably fit the post match party in a shoebox. I guess we should hope that Yeading win, so their ficture list gets even more congested, but i kinda hope Sluff do it

Wonder if Slough/Yeading will attract more than the 296 who witnessed the league match between these two clubs?

And whilst on the subject of support at The Dings games was anyone else disappointed by Mark Pougatch’s voice over on The FA Cup first round highlights (and yes I did sit through it twice so I could capture on video Andy T and John R’s moment of fame standing in the entrance to the Town Shop). On Halesowen’s goal in front of a packed away support in the North Stand he comments how nice it was to hear to Halesowen faithful celebrate… “all 17 of them” – more like 500 (with just 24 home supporters?). Come, come, Mr Pougatch. Stop being so patronising, or is that official BBC policy for clubs of a status like our own?

Being patronised is part of the FA Cup, it wouldn't be the same without it. The smaller club will always be patronised, even when a team like Palace play Man U or Arsenal they get patronised. I get patronised at work about supporting Billericay, I don't care.

And well done to the camera man in missing the Stevenage goal.

It was good to see so many Stevenage fans come down but they hardly did justice to their status. Very rarely did they get behind the team in the same way that Ricay did. It could be argued that the game was one that was not high profile for them but surely they should have been making some noise when they were ahead.

All the ricay fans should be praised for giving the team an edge that would have been decisive at another time <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

the thing that makes you a little jealous, is we deserved to win on sat, if we had and had then been drawn to play a fellow ryman team like yeading and slough have, we could realistically dream of a 3rd round place and a potentially dream day out. If yeading get there, its down to their players earning it but with a limited fan base its so frustrating that a team like us couldnt be there as we do have the fan base for it to be apprecated.
