what an interesting evening!

This brings back so many memories of Romford's first sortie in the ESL. Shame the net was only in its infancy those days. Ah, I remember it well, pitch invasions at Southend, police called at Sawbo and Canvey. Oh happy days.

Dunno haven't heard from him all night but I suspect he did have a couple of sherberts! Even I nearly did but I had to get my daughter home... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Actually, I didn't need any achohol... the result made me high enough for a number of reasons.

My best XMAS pressie ? The townie manager said he "expected them to be top at Christmas". It can't happen now. SHAME!

We fell into a similar trap in the mid 90s. Because we had big crowds in those days, it didn't take us lot to start moaning about biased refs, crap pitches etc. On the latter subject, it was the same for both sides, no? I seem to recollect Abbey giving us three tonkings on our 'carpet' this season.

We won 2-0 lets keep to the game, no one from our side moaned about said ref, Tue's he was fine at ETFc V Eton Manor? Our boys dug in? no one expected us to play football, blimey read the enfield gazette, trouble is NO ONE DOES in the Abbey........The ref is the best in the league...until you lose........you cant please fans........

Exactly, when it comes down to the nitty gritty one can point to plenty of incidents that the ref has let go...but this normally happens when your team has lost.

I reckon if every game, even at our level, was properly analysed by and independent observer about 90% of the refs decisions would turn out to be correct. We all get myopic when we need to...a la Ferguson, Wenger et al...

They need to show more dignity in defeat and humility in victory.... just like we had to at our one defeat (so far) this season!

Coup exactly it, the refs are right prob more than 90% but somehow this mob lose and its either the ref's fault or the guy who spat the players and ref when they came off and they are blaming WAFC! I cant work it out?

On Tues the exact same ref was superb today they want to kill him, I scratch my head......

so Jo told me........nice to see Sam over today by the way

Am working on her (SAM)... she will def, at the mo, be at the next home game.

Have found it hard to get her over the Abbey for the last couple of seasons as ENFIELD is her team and always will be... so am making some progress.
