Any news on the likelihood of todays game being played?

Just spoken to my counterpart at Billericay.

 

Ground is 'very firm'. The ref has been asked to arrive early to take a look.

 

With no travel involved and a local Referee in charge there is no need for an early decision.

 

If it was our home game I would certainly want to leave it as late as possible

I have just heard from BTFC that they have now asked the Referee to come in and look at the pitch at 10:30.

pitch inspection 10:30 to 11:00 jl leave it late as posss because its a local derby that doesnt want to be missed my everyone, yest it was ok by about 12 around most places in billericay

the pitch is improving all the time and they are going to inspect again at 11.30. "Everyone" is travelling to Billericay assuming that it is on. It's in the balance, though....

i reckon that they will give it the go ahead, if the ground is still a little bit firm, because it should thaw out with 22 men runnin on it

That's what we thought yesterday when they allowed the majority of the Canvey travelling support to get to Dagenham and then call the game off!!

i think that it will be much beeter by 12, but the pitch could be a bit sogy, but al we want is the essex derby to go ahead
