Midland Football Alliance Round Up

Causeway will continue to rely on style and spirit rather than pounds and pence to attract players for their first season in the M.F.A. Last's season Express and Star champions are continuing with their no-pay policy. The club attracts players with the style of football they play, the facilities and the atmosphere, according to manager John Caulwell.

Ludlow Town will be playing their home games at Shifnal Town's Phoenix Park stadium until Christmas as their new ground still has considerable work to be done on it. The Shropshire side used Bloxwich's former Red Lion ground last season. The new purpose built stadium has yet to be named but rumours suggest the club are being offered a huge cash reward by local brewers in exchange for the ground to incorporate the company's name.

Meanwhile, Shifnal have recruited former Willenhall and Boldmere striker Carl Dwyer as player / coach. Dwyer had a spell as reserve team manager at Willenhall a couple of season's ago.

Willenhall boss Rob Smith has issued a hands off statement to clubs looking to poach red hot strikers Lee Bullimore and Gary Hay. Already Smith's former club Redditch have approached Bullimore who hit 15 goals in 17 games last season. Smith reckons Bullimore is happy at Noose Lane and is enjoying his football. Meanwhile Smith says the bidding starts at £10,000 for promising starlet Hay, the strike force have netted 4 goals each in the opening 3 matches.
