Ian how about deleting old posts from 3 years ago. Or would that effect our total number of posts?

I am doing my best to sort the problems out - I am more concerned to keep the site up and running.

 

When we used to have 100 online here it was not an issue - but now it is often round the 300 mark at any one time.

 

I need to make sure that we can cope with 4-500 online for any highs.

and how do you solve this?

At the moment I am not sure - apart from improve the server platform.

 

It is on a Dual Xeon server - hopefully the extra GB of memory will help. I am also seeing if I can tweak MySQL settings etc.

Yes - the memory was gong up by 1GB.

 

Hopefully we may be okay now - we will see
