MFA side Willenhall Town had a weekend off as their opponents Pelsall Villa were involved in FA Cup action. The break gave boss Smith a chance to sign a couple of players to see them through their current injury / suspension crisis. The Reds boss has snapped up ex-Wednesfield midfielder Ronnie Walker and ex-Alvechurch defender Jamie Ryder. He has also put 7 days notice in for Causeway's Andy Hall. Meanwhile Smith was given a welcome boost with news that Simon Carter, Stuart Eades and John Quilt look set to return for next weeks visit of Grosvenor Park.

Midland Alliance club Stourbridge's hopes of ground sharing with rivals Halesowen Harriers received a major boost this week when they agreed terms with their neighbours.

The club has been looking for a suitable ground up to Dr Martens League standard since winning the Alliance last season only to be denied promotion.

Bosses have been in talks with Harriers ever since and contracts are now in the process of being drawn up.

Dr Martens League chiefs will need to inspect the Hayes Park ground to see if it meets their standards. It is understood some work would be needed to bring the ground up to scratch.

Club spokesman Nigel Gregg says the club sees the move as the best way of securing they have a good enough ground for promotion.

He said: "The deal has been agreed but obviously there is a long way to go.

"First we need to get the necessary ground grading, and then we need to win the league."
