Monday was only the second time this season that we have named an unchanged side in the league - the previous time was for the 2 away games against Maldon and Hendon. We also kept the same side for the 2 FA Cup games.

 

By my reckoning in the past season and a half we've visited 8 grounds for the first time in the league, winning just 2 - at Maldon this season and Tonbridge last season. The win ratio at old haunts is nearer 50% suggesting we play worse in unfamiliar surroundings. The others were (last season) Folkestone(L), Eastleigh(D), Salisbury(L), Dover(L), Staines(L) and this season Margate(D). Not sure if Yeading and Cheshunt were new grounds as well which would make the ratio even worse! The good news is that we haven't got any more new grounds to visit, although our last visits to Walton and Dulwich were a few seasons ago.

 

One of our forum regulars asked when was the last time we scored more than once in a league match. I guessed at Windsor which proved to be right. The good news is that in the subsequent 7 league fixtures we've only failed to score once and we've converted those 6 goals into 9 points (3 draws and 2 wins).
