Tuesday matches

Why do we not have more midweek matches near the beginning of the season when we know we will be struggling to fit them in at the end of the season (this is only based on previous seasons of course.

Remember our promotion season when it was something like 8 games in 16 days and Harrow had 3 games on the last day of the season.

I know there are cup games and scheduled replay dates but there seem to be a fair few free Tuesdays when we are not playing.

Just asking really as it seems silly to not play when the weather is better, the pitches are not totally trashed by winter and the players are, generally, fitter and fresher.

We all know that playing three games in a week is unrealistic.

Has anyone ever questioned the league about this?

It's purely down to cup runs and weather as there should only be about 6 midweek league games during a season including Boxing Day, New Years Day [both variable], Easter Monday and August Bank Holiday Monday.

It's generally acknowledged that the better the season you're having the worse your backlog is going to be so I'd settle for a backlog as it would mean we're enjoying our season!
