I am still sitting on the fence re Jim. However, the reaction of the fans is not just down to three early cup exits. It is the poor performances thus far this season and the fact that we should have won last season's SL1E title with the players we had. You ask for fans to be loyal to Jim and he certainly did do a great job in the ESL. However, loyalty is a two way thing and Jim chose not to be loyal to players who won him all those trophies. I did hear that he commented towards the start of last season, it didn't matter who he dumped, he wanted to win promotion at all costs. He lost a lot of players as a result and some of these he should have kept. I did comment back then that loyalty has a way of coming round and biting you on the ass. It appears that this may now be happening. Jim knows a lot of people in the non league game and does seem to attract some good players. HOwever, it appears that the managment team lack any decent man-managment skills. I know from taling to a number of players that when Jim drops someone he then blanks them. Surely, when you drop someone you should be full of encouragment and try an motivate them to win back a place. As I have said, I am sitting on the fence but performances and results must improve urgently.

You've got a nerve, coming on here being resonable.
Well said.

I am delighted to hear that Jim wants to win promotion at all costs. That is the attitude that I want from a manager. You cannot be loyal to players - if better players become available, or if your form dips and another player takes his chance and wins your place, so be it, that's football life and the way it should be. Of ocurse the new players have to perform better than those they displaced - the cycle continues...

It seems that Jim has been criticised for being too loyal to certain players.

Having said that it is a very fair point about man-management: there are some (one outstanding and obvious) cases of players being lost that should not have been. But I am not privy to exactly what occurrs between manager and players.

I think it's about time you changed your name to Mr Miserable.

Every post you make your moaning about something or other.

Mmm, funny how every now and then someone who is clearly a forum regular comes on here under a new pseudonym to have a pop at a fellow supporter. I am entitled to my opinion. I am not the only person who is not happy with how things are going and I have spoken with a number of players regarding their treatment.

Message for Invis. I do accept part of what you say but being loyal to plyers who are also on form and who have consistently worked hard for the club was what I was writing about. The classic case was Steve Baldwin. Our best player when we won the ESL and a bit part player and given no explanation last season.

Just for your information I have never posted under any other name.

It dosen't matter who I am, I'm a supporter I attend matches both home and away.

I think some fans would rather see us fail so they can keep having a go at certain players or the manager, although saying that even when we are doing well the manager still gets criticised. Some players can do no right in certain fans minds and some can do no wrong even if they have the worst game ever. Slagging off individual players isn't doing any good, get behind the team and the manager.

With regards the way we play, we can't play like quality passing football every minute of every match, I know we should be playing better football than we we are but it's not as simple as that, certain players aren't as comfortable on the ball as others.

The reason we have a much better away record than home is the team is a very good counter attacking side we can soak the pressure up and attack on the break, we can't do this at home because teams are quite happy to sit back, I think this is why Jim trys to play quite negativly at home but it's obviously not working and I think he will need to change things. We obviously do need a big striker to compliment the other strikers we have, but good quality big strikers are hard to find so until we get one get behind the players that are playing, if we show them a bit more support and encouragement maybe they will start showing us how good they can be.
