Only Problem!

Really enjoyed my visit to the New Lodge yesterday, certainly one of the most atmospheric grounds in this league. Good game, good burgers, lovely bar. Just one thing that ruined it, what I can only assume is the local scum that stood up the Margate end both halves giving us constant abuse. How they were not removed earlier in the game is anyone's guess (although credit to your stewards for removing them swiftly when trouble looked likely). Do this group attend your home games all the time?

Yes I am afraid those little boys did no credit to BTFC at all last night. I think most of us realised they are not representive of the vast majority of your fans who gave no trouble at all to us.

 

However, I do have a further couple of complaints to make about last night:

 

1) The Steak and onion rolls were wonderfull but why did the Steak run out so quickly. When eating mine our Chairman noticed it and ordered one for himself and one for his wife. However, there was only enough steak left for one so being a perfect gentleman he had a burger!

 

2) Who saboutaged the PA system. I was looking forward to some good tunes from the infamous Gazza (was it the visiting Chlemo fans?)

 

In conclusion thanks for a great night and, a really good football match just a pity the result was the wrong one. See you all on the 27th February.

Firstly, apologies for the mindless youth, we do not accept that kind of behaviour which is why we eject.

No, they are not regulars, although we did on two occasions last season have the displeasure of their company.

 

Margate, like Billericay obviously have the upper class supporter, steak is always on our menu and usually consumed by the home support only..., Not that I would say this for one second... but I am told that the average visiting support can only say burger, and Billericay folkore says that local resident Lee Evans got the inspiration for his burger sketch whilst standing next to our burger bar..... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

So the sudden influx of Kent Egon Ronays resulted in our al la carte chef running short of supplies...I shall have a word

 

 

I'm looking forward to the 27th and hoping for a similar result.

Yeah, apologies for that. The amp got a buzz which I couldn't track down until I switched the mike on which then treated everyone to a blast of feedback...the light went on and I went "ahhhhh, mike on unit too high"....It was sorted at about 20 mins to go.

I thought the music was not bad, certainly not my best...The usual suspects of top 10 hits, fogotten classics, and very guilty pleasures (Modern Romance "Ay, Ay, Ay, Moosey")...

Still, I did enjoy Smoke On The Water...hadn't played it for sometime and boy, what a classic!!!! Oh and Love Cats - The Cure....Half time was better....

Thanks for a very enjoyable evening with good food and enjoyed my Magners in your very nice bar. Tunes that were played were good indeed. Excellent programme too. Great game, shame about the result <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Funny, I don't remember having the pleasure of pro creating whilst I was living in Braintree....certainly not anyone that was deaf as well as stupid...Then again, I'm told that is a local affliction brought on by inter family relations...

You could tell that those kids don't go often as just before the second half started we said to them that this is the Margate end and if you look on the roof of the stand it says 'the margate end' and they all looked. I don't think they were very intelligent as they thought Billericay was north and when we said that they are south someone said to me that we are still north-east from you (margate). I will let you think about that one.
