Looking at Jeff's excellant history site I was going through the results from on this day and noticed the 1975 home defeat to Kettering.

I remember it was an own goal scored by Barry Thornley who played the ball back to the goalie who had moved to the side of his area, unfortunately Barry placed it back to where the goalie HAD been when he called which was on his line between the posts. ooooppps Even remember I was standing by the wall in front of the green tea hut to the side of the old main stand....now that must be sad.

"Early tea break"

One would think office work is so easy!!

No but every morning I switch on the computer and open my mail box, followed by the Margate site and the BBC.............then after my first cup of tea I open everything else I need to do my work.

As long as it is not porn we can view most sites so no dirty pictures on the forum.

All being well I will be at VCD tonight and have Margate shirt and scarf on my desk already

You got me looking now Frankie.I see too that on this day in 1965 we beat our "mighty" l.o.l. neighbours 2-0 in a Floodlight competition (I am assuming that KFC was the Floodlight Cup) 2-0 in front of 2100 punters. Those were the days!

I do remember Ramsgate having people WANTING to see their team in action then, unlike today.Or was it to watch US!

Dont recall anything about that game but I remember how enjoyable the floodlight competitions were in those days. Dont think they would go down as well these days though.

It was mainly first teamers in those days.Today it would be to look at fringe players & reserves.

Lets just repeat that result shall we Margate 2 Ramsgate 0. Time for a repeat score THIS season I think. Lets face it they have it coming to them! The cocky gits!(Q-RB)

Get the train to Bexley and minicab office next to station to Old Road. Otherwise it is a fair walk from Crayford station . Altrnativley if you know what train you are going to be on will pick you up at Bexley Station.

No. not really. I can remember 1952 when Jimmy Evans scored our solitary goal against Snowdown on this day. I can't remember the exact game although I was watching Margate then (child prodigy) but I did live in the same road as Jimmy Evans so that must count for something I suppose.
