Stat alert ... progress versus last year

Recommended Posts

Just been having a look at my stats and can confirm that compared to the same time last year (after 16 games) we have:

- scored 22 more goals

- conceded 3 more goals

- accumulated 15 more points

- be watched (total home and away) by 306 fewer spectators (although away average attendance is down on last season's total average)

And also:

- We have won more away games (6) than anyone else

- We have scored more league goals than anyone else (36)

- We have scored twice as many goals away than at home

- We remain one of just 4 clubs unbeaten at home

- We are one of 7 clubs who have won the majority of their points away from home (55%)

- We have been represented by 22 different players in league games (on the pitch)

- 8 different players have scored in the league for us this season

and finally ...

Scott Chalmers-Stevens has more "S's" in his name than any other current Margate player

Goals conceded-3 more than at same stage last season is interesting.

More clean sheets please chaps.

Thats why i reckon Bromley and Wimbledon will be ahead of us-its normally the teams with best defence who grind out most points.

Its going well-but more work to do yet

Never let it be said i ever make a footballing post! ..

I've seen a pic of that syrup and how impressive! Pure Dallas Wink Grin

Dont tell 'em!

Have to agree with AndyT for the match really. I saw us miss many opportunitites. My overiding thoughts of the game were that Margate put their chances away and didn't mind a good shot from virtually anywhere! Shocked We had closer range chances from no less than 4 different players and failed to put them away. From that they were bound to win. We put up a good fight, they did better.

It was good to see Taff putting a lot of effort into his warm ups. Shows he's getting that fighting spirit for his place back. As for Kember and Gooding, we know what a difference they can do, but against AFC we did ok without them. Someone said after the match that had we played in the 1st half how we did in the 2nd, then things could have been different. I believe they stopped us playing 1st half and sat back a bit in the 2nd. They were the better team.

You could play footy on the pitch that looked remarkably good considering the weather prior to kick off. There was no wind that helped that lob in, it was a well taken chance, with the keeper off his line (that seconds before had taken the pee with a save) one of those goals you can only watch go in...........

Well played Margate. A Fair result for us. 2-1 was no shame. Smiley

It's your own fault Frankie. Footie comes first. Work 2nd, family 3rd. Get your priorities right!

Footy banter is all about two way conversations and differing opinions in a good hearted way after the game. And credit where it is due...

Endeavouring to attend as many Margate games as possible and working my life around that.

Have succeeded in having all work colleagues in London, wherever they come from, looking out for our scores and usually have them asking how we played.

We had a new girl start last week and I was described as the Margate Madman....sure the manager was talking about football supporting
