You think we've got it bad?!?!!?!?!?!?

Dragged my two year old nephew to Hendon, nobody else wanted to come. So was well chuffed,( after spending 20 minutes getting, him, pushchair, all his gear sorted, and wrapping him up, and then sorting my self out) to be told at 2:45 the game could be off, and it was called off in the end as we all know. Tried to convince my Nephew that Hendon RAF museum would be a great visit, but he was determined."Butball!"

So we went to catch the second half of Beaconsfield SYCOB v Bashley.

As we walked in(ten minutes to go in first half) we heard the attendance being read out....56!!

I would have gladly paid, but nobody was there to pay.

Bahsley play in similar colours to us, so all two travelling fans came and said hello to Ben, who, fair play him, kept shouting out "Slough Town!"

Blimey, waffling again!!

Basically, they may have a ground, but with that attendance, and I hate to say it, and that Tosh I watched, they are just as in the muck as we are. How Bashley let them claw one back I do not know. Maybe if the poopa does hit the fan, maybe us amalgamating With B'SYCOB could be the answer. We'd have a little ground, and they'd have support?

Just an Idea, but it sure beats trying to start afresh down the lower echolons of the league with no ground, or dare I say, Becoming Windsor, Slough and Eton FC!

SYCOB recently had their Chairman and main financial backer leave the club, meaning that budgets were totally slashed and a number of players and the manager have left - so I'm not surprised they struggled against the runaway league leader!

Even if they weren't up to much in this match you saw DumDum and the crowd was not worthy of being called a crowd, at least they have a home to call their own. The longer we remain in that predicament the sooner we will be in a far worse position than SYCOB currently lie in

Have they a trust to back them? The supporters we have ? The players we have? West & Wlko running them?(Our backer hasn't officialy left (YET!!), even though we have no funds at the minute). They have none of the above, but have a home. thats why I was equating it as the same situation.. Equal each other out.

Bashley maybe run away leaders, but SYCOB can still be poor, show little effort, and very little skill (apart from the goal which was a cracking free kick!),with or without money, can they not? I am aware of their plight , thats why I went to watch and support on saturday.

Yes I know our position can and will no doubt escalate far worse than SYCOB's, I just thought that at the moment they levelled out. I was not slagging off SYCOB in anyway, just passing comment on what I saw and my opinion , and punting an idea if we go tits up.(In fact if we go Tits up and die, it will probably be SYCOB who i will go and watch, if they are still going)

At present there are only two of the original first team squad left playing at Beaconsfield. Of the remainder, Vrohski is coming back from injury and not anywhere near fit, Woodhouse has not kicked a ball in anger in two seasons and the highest level the rest have played is Suburban League reserves. With that side they have beaten Oxford City, drawn with Andover and suffered defeats to Bracknell, Uxbridge and Bashley. You may think it is poor quality and it would be hard to disagree in what is a poor division anyway but Slough are rapidly heading the same way but without the benefit of their own facilities. I said ages ago on here that the logical no brainer is for the two clubs to join up. However, football fans being the narrow minded, short sighted, stubbirn buggers they are, I doubt logic will be involved! What I would say is that I have seen 4 SYCOB games since their troubles and it is interesting - and not a little disturbing - to see how much trouble a budgetless team can give funded side, it certainly make you think about why some clubs make such sacrificies to find a budget?!

Of course football fans aren't logical - and that's a good thing. Why would 80 of us travel up to Boreham wood with half our squad missing knowing we would get thrashed? Why would people walk to Worthing to raise money for the Trust?

I don't think its narrow minded and stubborn not to want to merge even with Beaconsfield, which out of all the meging options is probably the most attractive one. But it is in the middle of bloody nowhere, and i still think there are a few sites especially near large urban populations that can be developed such as the old Total Oil depot in Langley.

Juts an idea brighton_rebel, thought I'd punt it, doesn't mean I would like it. Rather not merge to be honest, but agree with you, prob the best of the merge options, if that ever was/is an option.

As for SYCOB, i hope they get sorted, hate to see any club struggle.

How badly does one of us need to have it 'large' on the Euro lottery?!

About a year ago I was 75% there in persuading the Company I work for to sponsor the shirts. I spoke to Roy and put the proposal forward (I expected him to bite my hand off) and he wasn't interested. Here we are 12 months later with no shirt sponsor and in the financial mire......defies logic. HOWEVER, as others on here have already eluded, I now think there are other 'dark forces' at work and we will be lucky to have a team and club in the not too distant future.

If we did amalgamate with them at least we'd be famous for the longest football name in the world! SLOUGH TOWN & SLOUGH YOUTHCLUB OLD BOYS & BEACONSFIELD UNITED doesn't sound to bad. It would be ok until some idiot shouts out, give us an S!!!!!!!!!!!!
