A much needed win for Boro. Sawbo took the lead with less than 15 minutes played when a shot from the left hand side of the box crept in at the near post. from my position i couldn't see if it took a deflection or hit a post.

Boro equalized when Scott Walshe fired in a low free-kick which the visiting keeper obligingly dived over, and Lee Cornhill beat the luckless keeper, booked for an earlier hand-ball, with a low shot that went in off the post.

Des Gallen had the ball in the net too, but the goal was ruled out for an offside against Ben Turner.

Second half saw neither keeper unduly troubled. Boro had a few long range efforts narrowly off target, and Sawbo's best chance came from a free kick, awarded for a challenge by Paul Clayton for which he received a red card as last man. The free kick was spectacularly better than any of the penalties to date in the Rugby World Cup.

By far and away this was not a pretty display, but three valuable points.

i just spoke to Terry the manager of stansted & he said they lost 4 2!! he said Stotfold earnt the win & were a good side but was a bit a angry at what he called "selective viewing" by the officials!! also said that they had enough chances to win it but it was not to be!got to say that stansted have been a credit to the essex senior league and have certainly turned their fortunes around & made the league a lot more interesting this season!!
