Don't forget the Director's Forum in the Club Bar tonight starting at 7:30.

If there is enough time this will be followed by a short quiz entry fee £1.00 per head.

Was anything of interest disclosed by the directors last night for us folk unable to attend?

For example, is the Club still entitled to the £400,000 grant for ground re-development/relocation? (Not trying to stir - simply asking before anyone takes offence!)

Cheers

Yes the grant is available for three years from the time that we joined the Conference. The whole subject is linked to whether we redevelop Stonebridge Road or move.

Given the problems that other clubs are experiencing, this is not something that will be rushed.

.....and have talks with the landlord progressed very far?

% chance of the club relocating away from Stonebridge Road?

o% I would have thought, unless huge financial backing was offered. £400,000 would just about buy you a 4 bedroom detached house in Swanscombe and a holiday in Spain, let alone a new stadium.

The grant money has nothing to do with the relocation!

Not necessarily.
If relocation is to occur then it is up to the new owner to help us find a location of equivalent standard to what we have now, similar to what happened at Tonbridge Angels when they got their ground in that park.

The only way that there is a link between relocating and any grant, from what I understand, is that to get the grant, the club have to put up a certain amount of their own cash.

Obviously, any club would be reluctant to spend too much money renovating a ground whilst the question of relocation remained uncertain.
