Quote from Perryman in today's NLP; "I really don't want this to come across in the wrong way because I think the Conference is a fantastic level of football and we've got excellent footballers at Exeter, but I feel my style of management is better suited to a higher level."
Is this a polite way of saying the Grecians are noting more than a bunch of hoofing aggressive no-hopers. It's a darn good job Andy did not grace the then first division as a player as Perryman did, otherwise the 'Fleet would be really floundering, with their manager having no clue as to how to manage at conference level. Maybe that's why Paul Parker is doing so badly at Welling! And perhaps Mark Wright managing Conference champions Chester was just in my imagination; or maybe he had fewer England caps!
