What goes on here. The Ryman League site has the fixture as 13 April (presumably the original date). Working on what I saw here the other day, I promised to take my son down the Park on Saturday (he was very disappointed with last Saturday's farcical postponement). He will be even more disappointed now.
If indeed there was some possibility of advancing the fixture (and cash income) but it was not endorsed by one or more of the Directors and therefore, effectively blocked, I think this potentially suggests some hidden agenda. If so, I think we fans need to be told!!!

Great news, my reptilian friend. Let's hope we can get a reasonable side out, there seemed to be a few knocks taken last night.
P.S. For 'Galapogas' try 'Galapagos'.

[ 09 January 2002: This message was edited by: Rob the Saint ]

Yes. I hear that we are to play Heybridge on Saturday at The Park. I hope that it is well advertised in the local press tomorrow.
Interesting decision and timing, this one. On the one hand, it will be great to have a big gate and all that goes with it in order that t'lads' arrears of wages can be reduced. On the other hand, April now looks very lean with a home game against Grays on March 30th, followed by away games at Hendon [April 1st], Arrow [April 6th], Shots [April 20th] and then at home to Hitchin [April 27th].

Perhaps Manchester United are free for a treble-winning-fiesta-celebration friendly to replace the Heybridge game on April 13th.

Sometimes it's quite a relief that I don't know anything about football.

Great board this. I can hardly contain myself.

Ref Post 09 January 2002 03.02pm........
Following the recent escape of the EFM fellow, Dr.Zbungle has informed me that the Duchess is also now on the loose from Runwell, although she is still only halfway through her 12 week course of treatment. This is confirmed by her recent posting. She is aged approximately 40, tall, overweight and very suntanned. She dresses quite immaculately but always wears tartan knickers (she says this is to keep her bol..cks in check) and she is often seen smoking a corona grand.
I cannot emphasise enough that this person is very dangerous and not to be approached under any circumstances. In the first instance, you should contact Dr Zbungle, Chief Psychiatric Officer, Runwell Hospital, Runwell Chase, Wickford SS11 7XX or telephone 09066 555886.

Apparently it was all arranged but our beloved EX leader deemed it unsuitable for reasons only known to him, perhaps he will appear under one of his numerous guises to explain his reasons, because everyone else was up for it!

Glad to hear the match is now confirmed. Regarding AFF's view that April is now a bit light, perhaps an alternative is that playing the match now might at least give us a better chance of surviving to April!
On a slightly lighter note (I hope), I hope Canvey haven't got their eyes on our floodlights in the case of any liquidation of assets. It looks like they're gonna need some new ones if they are to retain their conference grading. But then I suppose they've got plenty of cash to go out and buy some now.
Rob
