Very strange this. Why leave a club with your back-room staff having made the play-offs and won the Trophy. Then apparantly havent got a club to go to. Then when loads of league teams sack their managers and are looking out for young successful people to take over, do you go and sign for Stevenage, a well-known Managers' graveyard ??

It all beggars belief !!

In my eyes Stevenage are a far bigger club than Grays and i`m pretty sure they would have been a League club by now if they had of chosen their managers better. They have the money, the ground,a good youth set-up and the potential for good crowds, with the addition of a couple of players they are one of my favourites for the title next season.

I think it`s going to be a very tough season for Grays, especially if Stimmo persuades some of his former players to follow him, but we all know he wouldn`t do that

Stevenage for years have never been anywhere near their potential, I just find it incredible that a managerial team would quit a winning club ( I know it hurts ! ) and then choose a lesser club. I would have put money on them going to a league club, even if it was someone like MK Dons ( Yeuk !! )

I'm waiting to see who Stimmo brings in. About 10 Stevenage players have been released including Ollie Berquez and if he does with Stevenage in two years what he's done with Grays, they could well be in the football league by the time Stimmo's contract comes up for renewal.

What are the chances of Ollie coming back to Park Lane?

Probably a lot less than Boylan ending up at Broadhall Way. Adam Miller is still at Stevenage, what a nice little reunion that will be!

Can't see Berquez coming to Canvey. From a part-time Conference team to a full-time Conference team, all the way back to Ryman 1 North? He'll probably end up at a full-time Conf South club....Kettering maybe?

very slim as he is from chelmsford i wonder if he could end up there

I`d say the chances of Jeff signing Berquez again are zero, he left on very bad terms apparently. I would think that he will end up signing for either Gravesend, St Albans or maybe back to Dagenham.

Unlikely he will go to Chelmsford. Pretty sure him and Jeff fell out over the contract business.

I said on here that Stimmos reasons for leaving were not as they sounded, all the stuff Stimmo and MW came out with was the correct way of dealing with things for the fans, press etc etc.

The facts are that Grays house is not in as much order as the results on the pitch have covered up.

Basically the infrastructure of the club is a mess and it really did not meet up to how Stimmo wanted to manage and to be honnest I couldnt blame him.

Stevenage have everything that we dont of the pitch from training to press office and even though it is non league the potential there is very very good.

Stimmo made a key comment that it would take Grays 4 years to get out of the league, playing wise we could have done it before but of the pitch we could not have.

Personally think Stimmo has been a legend at Grays, achieved more in 4 seasons than most would have in their careers as a manager so I can not knock him even though he has gone to Boro.

As for Us now, would love to get our house in order, consolodate our place in the conference and maybe in 3 or 4 years time make the push if we can

How do you work that out, yeah we have lost Stimmo and a sub standard left back.

Yet Frank Grays and his team bring years of acadamy experience, UEFA badges and respect within the game.

If Thurgood goes he will go for a fee and it will be a loss no doubt but the game of football does not revolve around Stuart Thurgood.

Frank gray will come in with his own ideas and the squad will be re-built baced on who leaves.

Thats football
