How many City fans did shedboy expect to turn out for a Friday evening pre-season friendly on Canvey Island? In the event, there must have been over a hundred there. I would expect the same sort of figure tonight.

According to the official City website "A chance seemed to have dissolved from a corner until Dave Rainford, with his back to goal, brilliantly hooked goalbound over his shoulder inside the area and Hallett was on the line to nudge a header home to make sure."

That was the 'offside' goal. JH headed in on the line when the defenders were just inside the six yard box.

 

Good all round performance on display by both sides.
