Will our new stadium have green space around it?

So what do you expect us to do, Claudius? Sack the team mid season & play the U18's for the rest of the season? There is no simple answer to the situation that exists. Its one that football has brought on itself unfortunately. Not many clubs out there are profitable - indeed, I even read the suggestion recently that, despite their apparent success, even the mighty Man U arent technically making money due to the huge level of debt they have to finance.

For years, it has been said that clubs at the lower levels should revert to part time status - it hasnt happened, however, and the impact of (effectively) making the Conference (Blue Square Premier)League 3, has been the opposite & more and more clubs have been pushed into going full time just to have the chance of retaining an ambition of going further up the pyramid.

Clubs who remain part time at our level, as it stands, are effectively saying they cant go any higher and, indeed, that relegation is a near certainty. If supporters know this, support will wane, as many wont come to games if they are in effect reduced to meaningless encounters.

The only way of avoiding this is for football generally to accept that unless an almost impossibly large attendance increase can be achieved at many clubs, clubs must revert to part time or players must accept that wage levels need to be reduced. Neither option is very palatable, and thats probably why football has generally shied away from facing facts in recent times.Wage levels paid to Premiership players certainly dont help clubs below this level either as they create a general upward pressure on wage expectancy throughout the pyramid.

It is always going to be difficult to persuade individual clubs to make the decisions themselves - after all, taking either of these actions independently would considerably weaken the sides competitiveness and Directors and Fans alike find this hard to accept.

It would be even harder to accept the loss of our club, however, and if we must make one of these decisions at some point, so be it.

This posting may have repeated itself rather - its difficult to clearly explain these matters on a board like this - but hopefully its clear enough & will give further basis for discussion going forward.
