a bit of old news but shows what can be done!

On Friday 20 February a state-of-the-art sports pavilion in Harold Wood Park was opened by former West Ham and England striker Tony Cottee, now a Sky Sports football pundit.

The site's previous pavilion was destroyed following an arson attack in October 2005. It was rebuilt thanks to a partnership of Havering Council, the Harold Wood Sports Association, Friends of Harold Wood Park and the local community, through a buy-a-brick scheme.

It will be home to the Harold Wood Sports Association, made up of Harold Wood Cricket Club, Harold Wood Athletic Football Club and Cougars FC and boasts eight changing rooms, referee/umpire quarters, a new bar area and a kitchen and club room.

The pavilion cost around

Looking at the ground from Google Maps. It does have the potential of getting upgraded. But, that also costs $$$. Plus a coup says, whether the NIMBY's will complain if it does goes further.

Anyways, must be nice to get a new clubhouse. Good luck to them next season.
