First Managerial casualty?

TRS

Recommended Posts

Dicson Gill was a manager at Clapton for about 14 months (Aug 2002 to Nov 2003)and was also at Egham Town (Nov 2003 to Apr 2004). Egham was his last managerial job before going to Croydon. I believe he did the Croydon managers job before taking over as Chairman. The lensmeister should be able to corfirm that

It will be his 4th spell as manager of Croydon.

1994-96 Joint Manager with Ken Jarvie

2005 - March 2006

Sept 2006 - Sept 2008

Aug 2009 - ....

His history with Croydon goes back way further than that. He was Assistant Manager to Ted Shepherd back in about 1983. Dickson's passion for Croydon FC can never be questioned, and we were in all kinds of trouble when he took over as Chairman in 2005.

If he is taking over again as manager, I don't know whether its going to be a permanent or temporary thing. Ability-wise, I have no problem with him taking over, but the reason he handed over the managerial reins this time last year was for health reasons. I'm not convinced his health has improved that much in the intervening period. Time will tell.
