First Managerial casualty?

Statement from Croydon FC

It is with great sadness that Croydon Football Club announce that they have parted ways with 1st team manager Mike Robbins.

Mike joined late in the summer after the unexpected departure of Tony Beckingham and had very little time to rebuild the team.

He brought silverware to the club when his side beat VCD Athletic in the Kent League Shield and he will always be remembered fondly for that victory, however, a very poor start to the league campaign and early defeat in the FA Cup has made his position untenable.

Croydon football club would like to thank Mr Robbins for all his efforts on their behalf and to wish him every success in his future endeavours.

First team coach Matt Longhurst will be in charge of team affairs on Saturday (22 August) and the club hope to regularise matters as soon as possible thereafter.

On behalf of Croydon Football Club

After seeing their performance against Epsom on Tuesday I find this very surprising, ok only a point was earned but personally thought they edged it, I agree with Fatso, there must be more to this !!!!

Perhaps TC was right after all then!

Why do they do it? Does he have any background to be Manager? To be fair i've never heard of him so he may be an ex-player or coach for all I know.

Let's hope he gets off to a good start or he may have to take the axe to himself!
