Delighted that the gentle giant's come back to Ashford. For those 'recent' converts to Ashford, Mick got us promoted to senior football in 1990 (culminating in a notorious celebration where Snowy ended up naked on the clubhouse roof) and never quite got the full rewards for the legacy he gave us, as we came so close and yet so far under his guidance - 5th, 6th, 3rd and 2nd in our first four senior seasons plus three losing cup finals.

 

When we gained senior status, Ashford had to build a cover for 50 spectators as part of the stipulations. Being about six foot six, Snowy couldn't even get into the revered old 'bus shelter' stand as he was too tall! Luckily, now he can keep dry and watch the lads!

Very good to hear that Mick is back with Ashford. I have said before that a return for the Ressies to the Suburban League was a good move, and with Mick in charge it only gets better. I always thought that his vocal contributions were well-thought-out and with a really perceptive authority.

 

Even more reason to look forward to visiting the RPS/Short Lane next season when the first team are away.
