AFCH Supporters' Association Spend and Raise eStore

Has my transaction shown up yet?

There's a £9.99 transaction on Amazon (£11.99ish inc VAT) that has paid commission which belongs to neither Tony nor I (commission came through on 11th December). So if the item you purchased cost around £11.99 then it's most likely yours.

Much easier to work out who has done what if you register though rather than do it anonymously.

Spend & Raise is now being absorbed into a much larger organisation - easyfundraising.org

Effective 1st February S&R will cease to exist and we should start to use easyfundraising.org.  For those of you that use S&R there has been for some time a link at the top of our S&R page providing info on easyfundraising.org and how to migrate to it etc etc.

easyfundraising.org has around 1500 more retailers (includes Argos, Game, Toys 'R' Us plus many more that S&R didn't).  It's also a lot more professional in that you get confirmation once you've raised money .. a window pops up to let you know that your purchase has been recorded plus you get an email detailing the donation.

I've set up the AFCHSA page on easyfundraising.org.  To register ...

 - go to our easyfundraising.org page - http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/afchsa/

 - click "Create an Account" at the top of the page.

 - when the window appears, select the green "I want to support a good cause" arrow

 - in the "Name of good cause" box enter "AFC Hornchurch"

 - on the next screen, against "AFC Hornchurch Supporters Association" click the green "Support this cause" button

 - you'll then be asked to provide your login details + password etc for your new account

 - you'll then be asked if you want to install a "Find and Remind" toolbar.  I haven't, but might be useful.  If not, click the "skip this step" link (and then click the ignore window that appears)

 - you'll then see the main screen with "Raising for AFC Hornchurch Supporters Association" in the middle

Then simply search the retailers.

As an example, I've just searched for "Viking" (I need a toner) and the Viking page pops up with a list of deals and a "Go shopping and raise funds" button.  Accessing the site via this button or one of the "deal" buttons records that you've gone via easyfundraising.org.

Once you've bought something another window should appear along the lines of "we've recorded your visit to Viking" (for example).  You'll also get an email from easyfundrsaising.org too to confirm your purchase and how much the donation was.  Mine just raised £1.69 for a £38 toner.

Sounds better as it gives you a vast option where to spend your money rather than S. &R which seemed quite limited

Agreed, definitely more retailers .. even got eBay on there though it may be specific categories. Will give that a go when I order stuff for the biz.

Website has been updated with info about it. Also added a link on the home page, top left, to our easyfundraising page.

Pretty poor take up on this .. nobody's expecting anyone to spend any more online than they would anyway, but when you do go online can you ensure you take a look at the companies that are part of the easyfundraising list of retailers.

We needed a few things and all the retailers we'd normally buy from were there .. B&Q, Amazon, Lakeland, eBay and Viking.

Whether you intend to buy or not can you at least register (details in post #30 above) so it doesn't make us look so unloved.  As part of the registration process you do get the option of installing the easyfundraising "Find and Remind" toolbar.  This toolbar shows a little reminder every time a donation is available when you're shopping online, which means you'll never miss valuable donations!

We currently have a grand total of 4 members and from those 4 members we've raised £6.97 in the last month which is not too bad imo.

Thanks.

We can all push it though, right .. it doesn't have to be done solely by me .. lots of us have Facebook and Twitter too.  I'm not raising money for myself, it's for the AFCHSA which in turn will benefit the club, so surely it's in everyone's interest to spread the word.

We've got a half page in the matchday programme but I'll push a bit more using the website/Facebook/Twitter accounts but this is more a commercial/AFCHSA thing rather than club driven.  Happy to re-tweet when donations are published by the buyers (you can tweet your donations from your profile page)

As mentioned previously, if you think you'll forget then install the "Find and Remind" toolbar.  That way if you go onto a retailer's site that is part of the scheme you'll be told so.
