Remember Reading Rebel that Barnet won the Conference/National League title in the 1990/1, 2004/5 and 2014/5 seasons.

They've been a basket case ever since.

Barnet may sit top after 3 games but they've beaten a 10 man Halifax 2-0, beat Yeovil 2-1 and drew with Gateshead 2-2.

Only 3 games in but both Yeovil and Halifax sit at the bottom with 1 point each.

Super Bees are the easiest EFL club for me to get to and I like The Hive.

2015/6 : EFL Two 15th
2016/7 : EFL Two 15th again
2018/9 : National League 13th; Reached FA Cup 4th Round, losing 3-1 away to Brentford after a pulsating 3-3 draw at The Hive, after defeating Bristol Rovers, Stockport County and Sheffield United.
2019/20 : National League 7th

Not quite basket case form to me, Reading Rebel!

Barnet were affected more than most clubs by the effects of COVID-19.

But I believe that The Bees are buzzing again.

I didn't forget. I just showed the seasons which I did not consider to be basket case.

Barnet FC were badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and issued this statement on 17th March 2020 :-

"We have therefore taken the difficult decision to put all Barnet FC staff on notice. This is to include all first-team coaching and backroom staff, the Barnet FC Academy and many of the operational staff across all areas of the club."

They are picking up again now.

The question is Sherlock Green, do you like them enough to add to the list of teams you support? Go on, you can fit another one in ...

Point taken. Not sure how I overlooked Barnet when I set up my profile.

Social media promotion by Reading City makes BBC Sport:-

Not that I would want us to be more renowned for our food than our football, but envious of the news coverage.

Perhaps Steve Delaney will be at Royal Wootton Bassett Town v Reading City tomorrow in the FA Cup Preliminary Round.

Unfortunately, Reading City won't be bringing their cuisine with them so it will be whatever local fayre is on offer.

I hope that you are well, Steve Delaney.

If not, you should be feeling a little better after :-

FA CUP Royal Wootton Bassett Town  3  Reading City  1 (The scoreline looks so impressive!!!)
NLS       : Dulwich Hamlet  1
Slough Town  2
SLPS     : Swindon Supermarine  4  Metropolitan Police  2
