Bedford Town have literally replaced him with Greg Taylor, who has made over 350 Football League appearances. Bircham must be devastated!

Oh blimey, that’s great. Hadn’t seen any transfer news, that along with your other post bodes well then if he’s got those guys in. Any more news? It’ll be a hell of a season, very tough with the teams in that league, but I won’t bet against them staying up for sure.

They looked to be good signings and with the experience of Taylor, that’s a good start. I wonder how many of last years squad will be regulars. That Tabor I mentioned is apparently trialling at a number of league clubs. I thought town might go in for Yearwood too but I see he’s signed at Maidenhead.

Where does boss Rob Sinclair's manage to find these players from, it's incredible isn't it, his latest acquistion is, wait for it, old fashioned stopper centre half Sam Cartwright (pictured) who has been with Southern League Premier Division Central Spalding United for the last four seasons and was instrumental in the Club's promotion from the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands in 2023/24 when winning the Championship and reaching Step 3 level for the first for the first time in the Lincolnshire Club's 120 year history. Huntingdon born and bred Sam signed a lengthy contract with Peterborough United in 2017 at the tender age of just 16 when raising eyebrows at London Road and was immediately farmed out for loan spells to the likes of Kings Lynn Town, Leatherhead, St Ives Town, Grantham Town, Kettering Town, Woking and Oxford City, gaining invaluable experience. When Sam's contract at Peterborough United expired in May 2021 the then shrewd Spalding United Manager Gabriel Zakuani was like 'Mick the Miller out of the traps' to secure his services where, despite Zakuani leaving the Club shortly afterwards, he remained ever since until Rob Sinclair recently came calling. Lastly, and interestingly, Sam played, and was instrumental, in both Spading United's Southern League Premier Division Central victories over Bedford Town last season, a 1-0 win at their Sir Halley Stewart Field base in August and the 5-1 embarrassment to Lee Bircham at The Eyrie in early January:

Boss Rob Sinclair has signed a new two year contract with Real Bedford tying him to the Ledger Stadium until the end of the 2026/27 season when the Club will have reached the National League, it remains to be seen whether Rob will then sign a further extension as he is likely to be made an offer he can't refuse following an incredible, and unprecedented, five consecutive promotions from the Spartan South Midlands League Division One to the National League:
