GRS67 - As far as I'm aware London Colney have only played two friendlies at Cotlandswick since new boss Jack Metcalfe joined the Club, beating their Under 18's 5-1 and Potton United 2-1 last Saturday, it's hardly 'an upturn'.

I'd call that a upturn based on thier league form prior to lockdown.

Beating Potton raised a few eyebrows!

GAME OFF

Sat 17 April

Edgware Town v Amersham Town

Thanks Karen, GRS67 won't be best pleased will he having to call the game off, I expect Sarratt v Harpenden Town won't be going ahead either. What are you proposing to do with the Spring Cup fixtures on Saturday out of interest:

As a mark of respect for the funeral of HRH Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh, The FA will be recommending that no football fixtures take place between 14:45 and 16:15 on Saturday. With this in mind we've unfortunately had to cancel our home fixture with Amersham Town.

ALL GAMES will be forced to move from 3pm KO and some like ours will be cancelled due to it not being possible to bring forward or push back KO

It was myself who brought this to the attention of Rak, can't say we're happy about it but one of those things.

Yes I know I wrote the tweet!

There won't be any 3pn KO why have you mentioned that fixture in the Spring Cup in particular?

Of course games can go ahead at noon or you could have a 5pm KO, unfortunately neither were suitable for ourselves or Amersham

GRS67 - Do you have any regrets about not entering the Gladwish Spring Cup, you would then have had five guaranteed fixtures against Harefield United, Rayners Lane, London Lions, Leverstock Green and Colney Heath and a trophy to play for, it would have also evened up the numbers nicely in Group B had you entered as the Club seemed to be umming and ahhing right up until the deadline. You could have still arranged plenty of midweek friendlies as there are five Tuesday's during April.

A 5-3 win for our hosts London Colney this evening in difficult playing conditions

'The Wares' led twice, first half goals by Assistant coach Eddie Munnelly, and Oltian gave us a 2-1 lead before being pegged back at the break. We re took the lead early in the second period though a Tobi Coker penalty but were pulled back by a London Colney side immediately from the re start and then fell behind as the hosts added a fourth.

'The Wares' keeper Charlie Patmore was replaced by Aram late on but unfortunately conceded a fifth and final goal on the night.

Put another 10p in the meter Guv!

GRS67 - Is that referring to the floodlighting, you did say yourself that London Colney had seen an upturn recently and it looks like the Club mean business under their new young and ambitious boss Jack Metcalfe. It was surprising to hear that the hallowed Cotlandswick playing surface was in such poor condition, as well as the floodlighting, or is that just sour grapes.

We had 9 players out through injury or unavailable and despite the result played them off the park as we have done in ALL our games since Raks arrival.

Sour grapes? No, it was a friendly, had it been a league game under those conditions then different story.

Up Next! On Saturday we welcome Colney Heath to Silver Jubilee Park for a behind closed doors friendly. 'The Magpies' have enjoyed success over the last two Curtailed seasons and look to be one of the clubs that'll be rewarded with a promotion place in May
