The honeymoon period is well and truly over now for Fergus Moore isn't it and the bubble has burst. Ardley United led 1-0 at the break with a penalty right on the whistle

The spot kick was saved but the rebound was scored

Karen - Thanks, the match report describes it as a 'stuttering start to 2022' for Leverstock Green, that's putting it mildly:

Division One
Amersham Town 3 Langford 2

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Spratleys Meadow:

Amersham Town 3 Langford 2
SSM League, Division One
Spratleys Meadow
Admission: £5, Programme only on line, Attendance 65 h/c

Slightly concerned about the rain as Amersham had not updated their twitter feed since Friday but had a G4 back up, however a tweet just before 2pm, stated the game would be on.
Arrived with 45 minutes to spare but the small car park was already full, was told people do not mind if you double park.
Small modern clubhouse open - hot drinks and booze but no food.
One stand which had seats at the front and standing behind, the stand side of the pitch is raised so gave a good view of the game. Just as the game started we had heavy rain but that shower passed and the pitch held up well.
Good competitive game, with plenty of chances at each end. Amersham started well and took th e lead but as the game progressed, Langford had the better chances and they levelled the scores before the break.
Second half was similar with plenty of chances, woodwork hit and both teams attempting to pass the ball, Amersham took the lead with a cracking goal, however Langford replied from the spot after their winger was tripped after a mazy run. A draw would have been a fair result but there was still time for Amersham to get the winner, again from the spot after the visitors keeper tripped an Amersham forward.
On the way home many of the back roads close to Amersham were flooded but the game itself only saw one shower and the pitch seems to drain very well.
