Pre-season Schedule

Hopefully one of the managers will explain the Barry fixture! Yes good mix of opponents and with training usually starting a week earlier it’s only really 4 weeks until pre-season starts! I guess we’ll see Tyler play against us for Oxford United?

The MD of Macron Cardiff is also on the board at Barry Town, and invited us along, we felt that we can use this weekend as a team bonding one.

Also knew that whilst lots would not make the trip, there would be some that would love something a little different.

Thanks for explaining Neil.

Presumably that's why Dorking Wanderers have a pre-season fixture at Barry also

A trip down memory lane to childhood summer holidays at Butlins Barry Island.

Neil, the Welsh like a singalong, let's hope there's a piano nearby so you can tinkle the ivories and belt out a song ! ha ha ! Tom Jones ballads go down well in that neck of the woods....... All together now .........   'I saw the light on the night I passed by her window'. I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind ......! ?

Good to see the schedule out and almost complete. 8 games total currently (7+1 to be comfirmed).

A decent spread of games with various opponents.

Getting back to the pre-season friendlies themselves, I think they look a good selection of games. I'm particularly interested in seeing newly promoted Winchester City, and seeing what Aldershot fc have to offer for their new season.

There's no Arsenal game to bring in some much needed money but the Oxford United game should be decent.

Sometimes people get fed up with non league clubs advertising friendlies against "big" teams who, unable/unwilling to risk their best players field a mixture of youth/third order players, and are reluctant to come again. It worked the other way for Horsham once when only a few of us turned up to see "a Brentford XI" only to discover that Ron Noades had got the hump about something that had happened a few days before and made all his first teamers turn out.
