A pleasing afternoon with both Codicote and Old Bradwell United progressing to the next round of the competition, a groundhopper from another Forum was at Abbey Road:

Anagram Records Trophy 3rd Round
Old Bradwell United 3-1 Clapton Community
Attendance 66 h/c
Free admission - Programme by donation

Entertaining cup tie between two teams in different Step 7 Leagues. Visitors, backed by a vociferous following, took the lead in the 29th minute with a free kick from the right headed in by Fred Taylor. The hosts equalised in first half stoppage time, Chris King scoring at the 3rd attempt after an excellent double save from the visiting keeper. The hosts took the lead 12 minutes from time with a superb 20 yard finish from Tommy Cooke curling the ball past the keeper into the top corner before King scored his second five minutes from time with another good finish, a low shot into the bottom corner. A good job penalties were avoided as the light was fading fast by the final whistle, game kicked off 6 minutes late, the same time added on in the first half and it was 4pm when the final whistle blew.
Ground is in a public park about 2 miles north of Milton Keynes City Centre just east of the main Euston to Glasgow railway line. Only saw two goods trains pass during the game due to the strike which probably prevented even more visiting fans from attending. Venue is shared with cricket and has a modern glass fronted Clubhouse with wooden exterior and a thatched cottage behind adding to the backdrop but too far from the pitch to watch from there. Pitch is railed on 3 sides and roped on the cricket side. The best feature is the long dugout used by both teams which has a mural depicting the club initials on the back and a robin, presumably the club's nickname, on each side. Currently 2nd in Spartan South Midlands Division 2, they would probably have to groundshare with neighbours New Bradwell St Peter if they wanted to go up. Even if they could get permission for lights it would be difficult to enclose the pitch as it would block access to Bradwell Abbey the other side of the railway line.

Not SSML but a groundhopper was present at Essex Olympian League Premier Division Catholic United's comfortable 3-0 Third Round triumph over MIddlesex County League Premier Division Larkspur Rovers on a cold Saturday 17 December, as were two groundhoppers from another Forum:

Catholic United 3 Larkspur Rovers 0
Anagram Records Trophy Round 3
Len Forge Centre, Admission Free, Programme Free (also on line) and it was superb quality with a great article about Lurgan Celtic, Attendance: 54 h/c

A number of hoppers present as one of the few games to beat the freeze.
Very impressed with this game between two Step 7 Club's, both wanted to play football, hardly a foul and the Ref (who was good) did not have to put up with teams moaning and arguing.
Catholic took an early lead, as Larkspur overplayed it from the back and then added a second with a quality long range shot and in truth, they could of have had 4 or 5 goals in the first half.
Second half saw another early Catholic goal and I feared for the visitors, however they were much quicker in the tackle in this half and competed for every ball with the home team and were a bit unlucky to have a goal of their own chalked off. An enjoyable afternoon, in good company and no wind so the cold was bearable.
Ground wise, two small stands on the open side of the pitch. Clubhouse bar open, which also sold hot drinks.

Also at this game, with Henfield Bee in Wales a good opportunity to tick a ground he's previously been to. Glad I left home at 11.15am to do the 75 miles odd as I only arrived shortly before kick off thanks to the large free car park that the M25 had become a few miles from Dartford. Thanks to the advice of someone wearing a Braintree hat was able to get the last programme shortly after kick off, enjoyed the game and as Dribble has mentioned Larkspur were a little unlucky not get on the scoresheet. Journey home not much quicker than the outward one with a lane out on the Kent side leading to tailbacks to at least Junction 30.

Delaney - Thanks for posting and welcome to the Forum, why don't Shepherds Bush go to QPR for sponsorship, when I was Secretary at Tokyngton Manor back in the day the 'Super Hoops' could not do enough for us with the majority of our players from the Club's West London catchment area, I still have this information on file from 2010:

Manor were represented at the very high profile 'One Game West London' Community Forum on Wednesday 24 February at QPR's Loftus Road organised by the 'Kick It Out' campaign in partnership with QPR and the Middlesex FA. Distinguished speakers included Brendan Batson, QPR star Mikele Leigertwood, former player Clive Wilson and Middlesex FA Cheif Executive Peter Clayton and eyebrows were raised at Tokyngton Manor's amazing achievements in the Community thus far.
