Potton United will fancy their chances against beleaguered Hendon who are rock bottom of the Southern League Premier Division South with six League defeats from their first six games:

FA Cup First Qualifying Round
Yate Town 4 Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 3

A groundhopper from another Forum did a double and this was his second game:

FA Cup First Qualifying Round
Yate Town 4-3 Aylesbury Vale Dynamos
3pm; £10; Prog £1.50; Att: 191

This was a storming game. Step 5 AVD made a mockery of the two division gap between them and their hosts, and were unlucky not to get a replay which would have been fully deserved. Yate must have known they'd be in for a tough afternoon, as AVD had already dumped Bristol Manor Farm out in the last round.
Yate took an early lead on 9' when Ollie Mehew dropped a shoulder to round the keeper and slot home, but the advantage lasted only four minutes, before AVD's Prince Nemoh crashed a shot in from the corner of the box, before repeating the dose on 26' from the opposite side of the park. Two brilliant goals. Yate were rocked but did well to regroup and managed to grab an equaliser through Alex Lambert five minutes before the break. HT 2-2.
Both teams had chances early in the second half but it was Yate who re-took the lead on the hour, Mehew with another neat finish after a defence splitting pass. AVD were now flagging and the fourth followed ten minutes later when Prince Henry tucked a cross through the keeper's legs from close range.
We thought that would be game over yet AVD staged a spirited fightback in the last quarter and manged to reduce the deficit with a headed goal on 90'. But it was not to be and Yate were visibly relieved to progress at the whistle. Hopefully AVD can carry that sort of form into their upcoming league games.
The next round draw is 1pm Monday.

Adm: £ 8 prog on-line
- Badges - supposedly available but sadly no-one seemed to know where – were NOT to be found as signed, neither behind the bar nor at the tea-hut - though both sets of staff admitted they normally had them?
Didn't want to press anyone on their 'big-day' - they were evidently being kept much busier than usual.
Att: official 216
Directions: A4, A404(M), M40, M25 clockwise to 21a then up across to A1(M) on the A414.
Round eastern edge of Biggleswade on B6001 (lots of development New Town) then head NE on B1040. Ground is just off to the right as you past the 'Potton' sign.
Facilities :
Fairly open ground with decent sized parking area - share site with Cricket which was ongoing on the adjacent pitch.
Medium size bar - bottled beers only - draught lager (Estrella)
Food Hut near entrance
Match:
'Greens' were shocked early on to concede first, 1-0 pen.
the wake-up call stirred them into pressing wider with more numbers and they levelled just before the break, 1-1.
Game changing event shortly after - may have been the next attack - Home no. 5 given straight Red card after a scuffle in area - which carried on ... and then involved him grappling with a few of his own team trying to calm him down to no avail.
With numerical superiority Hendon ran in four more to confirm their 2 step higher status.
Roads clear out and back - indoors by 19:00 having done a quick dash for a 'supplies' round Morrisons.
