Bovingdon were 3-0 up at half-time against 61 FC Rhodes, so I suspect you've been given the result the wrong way round

Yes, that's why I put tbc, it is wrong on Full Time so it must be Bovingdon 8 The 61 FC (Luton) 0

Division Two

Tring Corinthians AFC 2 AFC Welwyn 4

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Icknield Way yesterday:

Spartan South Midlands -Division 2
Lakeside, Icknield Way
Tring Corinthians 2-4 AFC Welwyn
{10th v 2nd of 18}
Adm: £3/N, Att: hc 30-40 ish: Official 30
Directions: Ground entrance off left from main road (B488) on the northern fringes of the town
- went out via A4 E A404(M) down into Wycombe A40 - A4128 to Risborough and up/over Wendover
Nice views across to the eastern end of the Chilterns nr. Whipsnade
Facilities: small bar incl. toilets did hot food to order - burgers bacon rolls etc.
- some local beer (Tring Brewery: lager on draught) and some bottles - also conventional draught lager & cider
Small Car Park off the main Rd - pay on entry here.
Pitch - fairly cramped with a very narrow surround on all sides. Not sure how much is 'officially' open to spectators - took my foldy-chair and placed it as far into hedge from the touchline, up past the dug-outs.
That was the only side in the shade on a very hot PM.
No other seating and only one small bit of cover next to the Clubhouse - most spectators stood or sat in the odd plastic chairs scattered around at that end but the big Changing Room 'container block' rather restricted viewing.
Chain-link fencing on one side: hedge on the other - ground is probably open to public from the top end too.
‘The Romans’ currently groundshare with City, are new 'entrants' into this League (and newly est. according to their Club crest) having taken over from the WGC 'Dev' side but state they are a separate entity.
- their website states an aim is to reach in FL in 12 seasons – plenty of coverage in the SSML Restructure thread.
Visitors certainly had a big social media presence - their own 'media team’ were ‘live streaming’ the match.
- when my mate told a chap at the bar he ‘toured’ NL grounds it was suggested that he did an interview.
(hope they had English-Whitley sub-titles!)
- suffered surprising loss to basement club Caddington last time out and a reportedly 'controversial' 85’ abandonment late Aug when leading 1-4.
Home side were reportedly missing lots of defenders
Match:
0-1, Drinks break on 25, 0-2, 0-3, H/t - bar ran out of bottled water, 1-3 pen, 1-4, 2-4 very neat interplay through the middle and switched out to the right where it was fired in low by sub
- visiting coach not amused lots of 'f-ing' from side-lines about poor cover
2nd Drinks break : big & noisy post-mortem held around away dugout - Referee interrupted what he deemed was a coaching session.
A 2 straight Red - looked as if he may have left a foot in on the keeper - who had a fine game.
Inordinate amount of stoppage time - seems to be a trend ....Visitors - who have a few players clearly 2 or more levels better than Step 7 - go top of the league - previous leaders Totternhoe not in league action today.
Home more or less the same way - indoors (via Tesco) by 18:20.

Division One

Letchworth Garden City Eagles 2 Buckingham FC 0

A groundhopper from another Forum was at this affair:

Letchworth Garden City Eagles 2 - 0 Buckingham FC (HT 1 - 0)
Pixmore Fields, Spartan SM League Division 1 - Step 6
Admission £6, Programme £1, Attendance 24
On a sweltering day, having a brick built stand to sit in the shade was very welcome. The newly built (approx 2 years ago) second stand has now been furnished with 3 rows of seats to match the original stand, both on the near touchline.
I had been tempted by an FA Trophy match, but being strong armed into a working party for a morning of gardening, meant I wasn't ready to travel anywhere until nearly 2pm, so decided to stay local. LGC up to this point were bottom of the table on just 2 points, and B were mid table.
Neither team played well in the first half, LGC would tackle and win possession, for it to last barely seconds before an erroneous pass would send the ball out of play or back to the opposition. B didn't do much better. The LGC first half goal at 36 minutes was a nice cross into goal and was the only impressive piece of football during the first half - IMHO.
Unfortunately with less than a minute of the first half remaining an LGC player was injured and actually lost consciousness in front of the goal mouth. Time was called for the interval whilst medical attention was given and a golf umbrella was found to provide him some shade. A spectator then drove his work van onto the pitch to provide more shade whilst awaiting the arrival of the ambulance. Unsure of how long an ambulance might take to arrive, it was suggested that play resume on the unoccupied adjacent grass pitch where the U23s normally play. Unfortunately this wasn't permitted, as not having flood lights installed, it was not deemed as meeting the appropriate ground grading. Stress levels were rising in the heat, and the opposition team were pushing for a match abandonment.
The ambulance arrived at 16:36 and after transferring the player into the ambulance, the crew carefully drove off the grass, and continued their emergency care whilst parked in the club car park. The second half commenced at 16:51.
The second half saw lots of little niggling tackles and tempers were frayed on both teams. LGC seemed to start playing as a more cohesive team, although after a rather physical tackle, an LGC player received his second yellow card and was sent off. LGC scored the second goal at 88 minutes. During the celebrations, B quickly took the ball and kicked off with not one LGC team member in front of them, I think the gentle kick into the empty goal was disallowed for being off side. Bad tempered tackles continued from both teams, and the final whistle was delayed even further when there was a one person pitch invasion - aged 2 - who somehow managed to pick up the match ball and then decided to dribble with it. It was well past an hour late when the whistle finally blew to record LGC's first win of the season.
