New signings

doesn't matter who we sign if they don't gel as a team we are sunk

That is the potential downside to having to sign this many new players HT. Having said that, Scott, Yella and the management team I'm sure, whilst looking for a profile of player, take into consideration the types of personalities and how they will fit together as a unit when recruiting. You can of course never tell, BUT, in the time Scott (and Neil and Jon before him) have been in charge, 1 thing you can say about Slough is we have been an amazingly tight team that clearly works together and for one another.

I have every confidence in Scotr that teamwork and gelling together will not be an issue this or any season.

I think you’ll see that across the league most teams are going through different types of rebuilds. Maidstone seem to have lost 5 or 6 of their starting 11, Chelmsford pretty much have a brand new side although they have finance in abundance this time out. Hemel a totally new side, Tonbridge pretty much the same with the players I’ve heard they’re losing. The list goes on and on!

I can back our environment and the types of character, that’s one thing I take immense pride in, I’ll always make sure they’re good people.

But like you said, the rest is down to us and the individuals themselves to step up and be counted!

How many more signings can we expect Scott?

An interesting bit in Scott's interview was that clubs have shown an interest in David Ogbonna but so far there's been no firm approach for him.

That's ok but if Oggy does decide to leave we're going to need a wide player to replace him so how long do you give him before looking for a replacement.

I think you will find that as David Ogbonna has been offered a new contract & is only 23 that any other club wanting to sign him have to agree a fee for him, or accept whatever fee a tribunal determines is fair.

Scott has mentioned that the club wouldn’t want to stand in the way of him progressing to full time football, but he has made nearly 100 appearances for us, so I would say a reasonable fee & a sell on clause will definitely need to be negotiated by whoever wants him….. and that may be a waiting game until pre-season is due to start.

I’m surprised if there’s a quite a few clubs wanting Oggy that not one has made a bid? Or is it they’ve been told the asking price and feel it’s too high? Problem with these deals dragging on is it could hamper us bringing in replacements? Do you presume both Oggy and Slavi are gone or do you hold out in the hope that one or both will end up staying a little longer?

Personally from Scott’s interview I would assume David Ogbonna is gone but fee details are still to be resolved.

With Slavi, he talks about an injury issue, so I would say there is a possibility he will be with us until pre-season & maybe for a month or two of the new season until he recovers & proves he’s fit.

So in the mean time we just sit and wait and do nothing or assume he's gone and find a replacement?

Firstly great work Scott in getting Desbois signed, as it was mentioned he had a few offers but sometimes it’s the personal touch that makes a difference.

So just the 2 CB’s and we’re done? I feel we need another striker as I can’t see any other player who could also play there? Also a winger as our only current one is an ex EDS player.

I think we’ll see a similar goal scoring pattern to last season where our 70 goals came from 19 different scorers:-

15 - Spasov

7 - Gilbert

6 - Evans, Amartey

5 - Davies, Bayliss, Chambers

4 - Ogbonna

3 - Goddard, Lucan

2 - Jackman, Pruti

1 - Timberlake, Abisogun, Ufuah, Beeden, Miccio, Prosper, Hollis
