Half Time Entertainment

Thought this deserved a mention on the evidence of the last couple of Home games. Somebody at the Club is clearly taking the time and trouble to organise this - well done!

The guy with the MIC is a good idea and the band on Monday made a change from the music blasting out over the tanny (nothing against that!).

Heard quite a few positive comments about the band on leaving the ground. Can someone teach them to play "Here comes the Fleet" though!

Cheers

Thats a good one.... dont get me wrong, there are times when the swearing is all too much. I have to try to refrain sometimes myself especially when the many idiots 'IN' black make another stinking decision...

But on occassions the swear word makes a good adjective!!!!!!

Yeah, maybe we should have a designated family area like at dagenham(0-4<img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />) but even then the little children can still hear swearing! so doesnt make that much difference but may encourage some new support down? and to be honest, children hear worse language than f**k and other words heard at footy in the school playgrounds, even at infant school!!

The first game I ever went to was Chelsea v Leeds in the late 60's when I was 10 years old. I was standing in the Shed with my mate and his Dad.....and 20,000 skinheads singing 'You're gonna get your f******g heads kicked in!' to the Leeds mob. There were loads of kids my age there all joining in!! Like it or loathe it: blokes, beer, football, swearing. Swearing, football, beer, blokes. Beer, swearing, blokes etc. etc. in any combination is an unavoidable, if regretable, fact of life. Add children and it gets bloody worse!!!

Just before our magnificent FA Cup result against Leeds funny enough, before my time but I'd hazard a guess Stamford Bridge (and especially the Shed) changed since then.

Shame the passionate atmopshere is removed from the Premiership nowadays.

I think anything to entertain is a good idea. However, we are all interested in the half time scores and general info given out. So perhaps they could go off a few minutes b4 the players are due back. Otherwise as you say it's announced over the music.

I'm all for a bit of entertainment before the game and at half time. After all, I was, and still am a staunch supporter of a mascot. However, I doubt whether it would really draw in more crowds as the people present are there for one reason only and that's to watch a game of football. I can't really imagine someone deciding to take the entire family to a game just because there's a marching band/ pre-pubescent pom-pom girls/a bloke wearing an inflatable pirate head. Or maybe they would. Oh, I'm just an old sceptic, I'm afraid. Or should that be septic.......?
