Paul Macarthy

Never heard of Paul Macarthy, who is he?, apart from another footballer on the gravy train. See in the Reporter he, like Wormull, has turned us down for Hornchurch. Andy Ford states if the season started tomorrow he'd be happy to start with the squad as it is. Think he can bide his time, and wait for the right couple of players to come along who aren't just interested in money and willing to play at a lower level to get it

Lets face it if Andy does sign any more players he will probably have to let one or two go and compare it to last season

Goalkeepers much the same although Charlie is probably more experienced than Alex.

Defence is much stronger with Chris Moore and Lee Shearer better option than Francis and Robin Trott

Lee Gledhill or Protheroe than Matt Lee as first choice or Eddie McClements Left back we now have 3 choices with Jacko,Skins or Matt Rouse rather than just Skins on his own.

Midfield compare Drury, Protheroe, McKimm, Sidibe, Saunders, Jacko to what we started with last season in Gradley, Perkins, Jeran Meah, Anthony Hogg, Scott Goodwin, Jimmy Strouts, Tostoa Kwashi,Rob Owen

Upfront we now Roy, Manny, as opposed to Ben Abbey, Leroy Huggins, Louie Evans,

I feel we are a lot stronger but I would like some cover up front particularly for Roy as I think Moussa or Drury could cover Manny.

the big difference for me this season from last year is that most of the players have been togeather for nearly a year so they know each other's strengths and weaknesses and are willing to play for each other with great team spirit

a lot of teams such as hornchurch will find the players worrying who's on the most money not the best way to promote harmony in the side

Paul macarthy played for Wycombe, Oxford and Brighton- captain for all three. Good defender, was the leading goal scorer in Wycombe's run to the F A Cup semi Final a couple of years ago, got the first goal against Lecicester, Roy Essondoh got the second. He is 33 now, so gone to Hornchurch for the money, proabliy got offered more there than staying at Oxford.
