Butler Report

Recommended Posts

By the way, I looked up the following words in the Downing Street Dictionary:

1. Lies - what the opposition tells....

2. Truth - Whatever you need to say to get you off the hook or to persuade people to agree with things they would not otherwise agree with.....

3. Resign - No such word in the dictionary

4. Life Peerage A position where you get to investigate anything the Government needs investigating on condition that you do not find they did anything wrong, whether they did nor not....

Oh - I get it now - it wasn't lies, it was the truth with all the facts deliberately wrong, to make sure he got the answer he wanted....so that's all right then.

AS Mr Gilligan said (paraphrased) What Lord Butler's report said happened looks remarkably like sexing up to me!

2002: JIC claims that intelligence on WMDs in Iraq is sketchy at best. A few days later, Blair announces that, 'beyond doubt' (his precise words), Iraq has an active WMD programme.

2004: Lord Butler announces that no individuals are to blame for the failures in intelligence.

Hmmm... <img src="/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />
