At first look i did not think it was penalty looked like a great tackle. However my friend who was on the sideline inline with the incident said that he went through the player to get the ball and said maybe it was right decision.

No penalty, but certainly wasn't a dive. Why were Gledhill and Moore left out today? Both played well enough at Crawley, particularly Moore. No wonder our defence were all over the place, especially first half, Where's the continuity? Gledhill should be first choice for me, better defender, and Protheroe always seems to ignore our wide players perfering to consistently pump crosses over instead. Sidibe must have been frustrated with the lack of service from Protheroe today?

Saw Helen Chamberlain and a couple of SKY cameramen at the game today. Perhaps we might get a closer view of the pen later

I agree about Protheroe there. Very annoying how he was completely ignoring Sidibe for a lot of the time. Those balls pumped long up the middle of the park do absolutely nothing. The way to play is down the flanks through either Sidibe or Drury. When we do that we look a thousand times more threatening.

The one time Sidebe got behind them though, he promptly drilled an awful ball across behind both Mcallister and Essendon when he should have done a lot better.

I thought it was a good ball, but nobody ever seems to get on the end of our crosses. Disappointed by Roy today, slow to react, doesn't anticipate, and very little movement. Probably should have scored with a header in the first half.
Also disappointed the Fanatic??? couldn't get up in time for the match today!! Poor excuse

There is definitely some truth in this, as the number of defensive combinations we have used this season is getting silly now. However, it is a bit of a double-edged sword - we're still conceding cheap goals, so Andy is unsure of our best defensive line-up and makes chances - but of course in doing this prevents continuity.

Differing views above on whether we deserved a point today. I'd say just about in terms of balance of play, although the manner of securing the draw was rather fortunate, particularly since the good play we displayed at the start of the second half had degenerated to long balls by that time and I couldn't really see us finding an equalizer. I have to say I wasn't sure over the penalty, but I'll go with the sceptical majority above. Also, I suppose it was a little like the Crawley game, in that the game could have been beyond us by half-time. Roy had a good first-half headed chance, but apart from that, it was mainly Accy, and credit must go to Pullen for a superb full-length save shortly after their opener.

As for the red card, I didn't see that either, but the fact that Paul went off with a head injury suggests a misdemeanour of some kind.

On the plus side, it was nice to see us score from a set piece with the opener, given our usually poor deliveries from corners and free-kicks - although on the whole, they were again poor today.

P.S. Hopefully Skins will be available for New Year's Day.

"Came through him"??? - That implies penalty even if he got the ball? (I didnt see the incident as I was otherwise indisposed at the time !!)

Yeah maybe by the laws of the game but that doesn't mean its a pen in my book. If the player gets the ball you should play on.

Surley your agreeing that it should of been a penalty??
'cause the ref goes by the Laws of the game' (usually any way).

Yeah by the laws of the game I think it WAS PENALTY, but lets change the laws and say it wasn't a pen then we can say our luck has changed and then get three points against Crawley.

Come on the Fleet.

Great atmosphere at the end of the game.

Please note I thought it was a Pen but when I see the highlights I may change my mind. I don't want people saying that I am a fool just because I'm being honest. I thought it was a pen but then so did the ref and his decision is final and you can't change that, we all make mistakes and the mistake that I made was entering this discussion in the first place.

Please note I have now entered aimless rambling mode I may continue in this mannor for several hours.

Glad to see Drury playing so well. He was outstanding at Hereford, played well at Crawley and again yesterday. Gleds played well at Hereford and Crawley, but keep's getting yellow cards, I thought Pop was excellent yesterday, and was unlucky not to get MOM. Who cares if it was a pen or not, we got a draw out of it, lets hope some good luck is at last coming our way.
