AFC Hornchurch are delighted to announce the first crop of players to be signed for the forthcoming season in the ESL. John Lawrence and the entire team have worked tirelessly and tonight in the clubhouse the atmosphere was terrific as we welcomed the following to Bridge Avenue;

Michael Collier (Aveley)

Nick Cowley (Romford)

Danny Cowley (Romford)

Lee Perry (Burnham Ramblers)

Jamie Gray (Burnham Ramblers)

Steve King (Romford)

Glen Golbey (Barkingside)

Billy Holland (Waltham Abbey)

Danny Heale (Dartford)

Nicky Wilson (Redbridge)

Sam Williams (re-signed)

Sean Dear (re-signed)

A new start and the start of a great new team.

Here's a few stats I picked up via a quick google -

Michael Collier (Aveley) - Goalkeeper - signed from Enfield for 2004/05 season. Made his debut for Aveley at Uxbridge. Previously with Harlow.

.

Nick Cowley (Romford) – Harlow Town, Boreham Wood, Romford. 16 appearances, 10 goals for Romford last season.

Danny Cowley (Romford) – Dagenham & Redbridge, Harlow Town, Hornchurch, Boreham Wood, Romford. 29 appearances, 2 goals for Romford last season.

Lee Perry (Burnham Ramblers)

Jamie Gray (Burnham Ramblers)

Steve King (Romford) – 45 appearances – 18 goals last season.

Glen Golbey (Barkingside) – Bowers Utd, Barkingside, Redbridge (one appearance v Carshalton, one goal). I think the correct spelling is Golby (as opposed to Golbey).

Billy Holland (Waltham Abbey) – 45 appearances, 37 goals.

Danny Heale (Dartford) - Forward. Age 23. Joined the Darts in September 2004 following his release from Great Wakering Rovers. Leading scorer in the Essex Senior League last season whilst with Concord Rangers.

Nicky Wilson (Redbridge) – played eight times for Redbridge last season (no goals)

To correct my last post, I forgot that Michael Collier also made two appearances in 03/04 for HFC, (against Northwood and Dagenham & Redbridge), and also had 31 NPS appearances, prior to joining Enfield.

And a word about Danny Cowley - he could not travel to Hednesford with the rest of the team as he is a teacher, so drove up there on the Saturday, not knowing that it had been called off early that morning.

A good bunch of lads.

Looks like we’ve given half the teams in the league a good reason to hate us.

Have we become the poor mans Chelsea again.

Where are you hiding Abramovich ?

and indeed she is most welcoming and good fun to boot...not your normal blazer and I'm sure she'll be pleased to see you all again soon...

as for my dream team....hhmmm....be careful or I might take you off it and put you on the bench....

by the way....you will need to consider carefully who exactly is winding who up....you or emh....

I believe he was with us whilst I was otherwise engaged with the fallout from Coldsea et al last winter....

I've no doubt that one of our guys will enlighten you when they read these posts....

we had jude sterling the season before and he could sling it as well.....must have scored at least a dozen goals from his throw ins but the bugger couldn't get up in the morning so borgie let him go....

great lad and a very good player in my book....
