La La Laaaa!!!

Claire!

Recommended Posts

Hmmm. Let's see.

Three-bed semi-detached in Jersey Farm.

Conservative estimate - £250,000? Probably a fair bit more.

HB - works in London. Good job, good salary. Twenty years of savings.

Claire - works in St Albans. Salary roughly £16k.

Joint mortgage is normally two and a half times your joint salary, which would mean you were worth £40k of the house at most.

However, if he got a mortgage by himself, he could possibly get up to five times his salary, which would be far more economical.

Doesn't take a mathematician!

When's the party!!?

Well - why look into it that much? I'm not paying rent - neither is HB - we have a house together, what more can i say without telling you all our financial (private) buisness?

All i came on here to say is that i now live in St ALbans, which i am extremely happy about - and that i can wave goodbye to Markyate!

There is no way you could be an equal owner of a three-bedroom property in St Albans, Claire. Absolutely no way.

And it wouldn't make sense for HB to get a joint mortgage, when the lenders would give a lot more (possibly even double) for a mortgage solely in his name.

But like I say - hope you're happy in your new home!

But why look into it that far? Seems as though you're looking for something to satisfy yourself with? Perhaps i'm wrong in the way i'm reading it - but usually - when someone announces they've moved and got a house with their boyfriend - asking them how they're involved with the payments, or how they managed to afford such a place isn't usually top on the list - infact it's usually no one's business appart from the person's concerned.

Me and HB are starting a fresh, a new start for both of us - in our new home in St Albans, with our new puppy. We're happy - i just wanted to let everyone know that.

You've fallen on your feet there Claire, I've always admired women who manage to keep up the love pretence while the older man is bringing the coffers in. Obviously HB isn't 90 odd and you're no Anne Nicole Smith but well done <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

So when you go to the Solicitors is the house in both your names?

When's the party?
