FA CUP - London APSA

Recommended Posts

On sky sports news the other day there was coverage of a local side called Sporting Bengal. Allegedly they are the first "asian" team to enter the competition. is this true?? considering APSA are in it this year they are at least on a par with bengal. Did APSA play in it last year? They could have had themselves some TV coverage!

what league are sporting bengal in then, surely they should lose their status if they play senior footy like APSA had to.

Which is silly because they play at the Mile End Stadium. Not quite within the old Essex County boundaries, but on our side of the water and nowhere near Kent. I heard it was because the stadium was ok for the Kent League but not up to ESL standards. Dread to think what some of the Kent grounds are like then.

There was another report about it on BBC1 London News tonight.

London Apsa went down to Halstead Town 0-2 ( Gareth Heath 20m, 43m ) in the F A Cup last night in an historic match filmed by BBC Football Focus ( 12.15 today ??) and in front of a fair support. The game was also filmed by another TV station and Zulfi Ali, Chairman of London Apsa was in serious " interview" mode. So, the club got the publicity they deserve but Halstead went away with the winnings ! Such is life but well done to Apsa.
