Another unsuccesful ESC campaign... in 3 years we've managed just one win in this competition, against Stansted in 2003.

 

Plenty of team changes, James Smith made his debut at right back, Bourne got his first start, recalls for Dobson, Hockton and Cousins. Trott injured, Pat on bench so macca at centre back.

 

Bad start, failed to deal with a corner, good finish from Adrian Allen edge of area. Dobbo then departed with a cut above the eye, Pat came on. Allen added a second as we failed to deal with a corner again. Bourne went close with a shot that was deflected over by Gavin King.

 

Hockton pulled a goal back with a free kick, but we gave away another pen for holding apparently which Edwards jr scored.

 

Second half bit of a non event really - never looked like getting back into it. Thought Bourne did ok on his debut, but he got subbed off.

 

Sappleton sent off late on for a second yellow after he got left 2 on 1 with the Chelmsford strikers.

top player, could easily play at conference level, tell him to get his twin brother over as well, was on southends books until injury struck two years ago, both quality players, good to see lads like dale and chris coming through, you guys dont mind that there both from canvey though do ya??
