Heybridge 2 Ricay 1

Another good game between the two sides that could have gone either way, unfortunately we came out second best again.

Balls up between Pat and Millard for their first after about two minutes. Then Nicholls makes three blinding saves. Goalkeeper - crucial position..nuff said.

We come back through an og, both teams hit the woodwork and Heybridge score. Kris Lee again. We then sub a sub....and can't find the equaliser

Millard

Mustafa Sapps trott Kerrigan

Simmons (Henty) Game Hunter Wareham ((Bourne)Poole)!!!!

Hockton Elder

well i just got back... obviously i went to the pub and saw england "stuff" the argies!

before i say anything else..someone please please please explain how that was not a red card?

i thought if you were a neutral todays game would have been a cracker, unfortunatly im not neutral and it was a disaster!

Best attitude ive seen our players/fans/managemnt take to losing ever! worse sportmanship shown by heybridge players/management ever!

2nd time ive seen millard niether been impressed, in search of a not so insulting word the defence was a bit of a shambles today, very untidy that said though i thought the ref was awful and gave anything!

i dont think i will need to say "that was the worst ref of the year" again this season now!

Hockton should of buried that chance first half!

why the hell cant we sign nicholls 2 incredible saves from close range headers... and had elders deflected shot been on target, i think he may well have made it scrambling across his line!

Wareham looked bad... real bad... anyone had any news? Bourne was unfortunate to take a knock soon.. our injury problems are certainly growing!

what the ***king ***k ***k where there players up to towards the end of the game, rolling on the floor, falling over? thought that was a disgrace!

i also thought game/hunter/hockton/kerrigans reactions to it "if your gonna fall over we'll hurt you in process" was quite entertaining...Matt game was my man of the match today we was everywhere and gave 200% till the end!

Thought tarkan looked better and stronger at right back all tho simmons played very poor!

one last point... i dont think anyone noticed but someone pointed out to me... Nicholls reaction to leaving the pitch... he clapped the home fans and walked straight through to the changing rooms! for that he earnt my respect, very professional, unlike the rest of there ***kers!

anyway league game few weeks time, JE will well fire the boys up... has the potentail to be a great game!

thoroughly enjoyed my day...no matter how much the ref trie dto spoil it, we were throughly unlucky!

Think it's probably just as well we didn't get an equaliser - we might have struggled to put a team out, and if we did another 90 minutes of getting kicked by them would have meant JE would have had to call up me and Gaz to sit on the bench at Bromley!

Quite how an attempt to break Nathan's legs gets the same punishment as kicking the ball away is beyond me... It's just a shame that it all got a bit nasty after that with tackles flying in from both sides, but the ref made a rod for his own back by not sending off Barber.

On the footballing side of things I thought we looked ok in attack, created plenty of chances. At the back we looked a little suspect, which is disappointing because Heybridge didn't offer much other than a punt into the corners for the wingers to chase.

Good to see Henty back, with Saps suspended and Macca, Bourne, Ross, Dorms all injured and Leon playing with a thigh problem we're going to need him!

It was !!!! actually
but agreed if that's the case, then it is equally unfair...
Hope Gary Ling gets paid overtime !!!!

In the NLP today, we were told that the match was characterized by tough tackling. Well, yes and pity their team couldn't stand up to it and the ref was so one sided!!!

Of course, tough tackling by them...read, leaving your foot in to try and disble the opposition!!!

I hope Justin fires up the team for our league return and it's them that have to carry players off!!!

the one thing ive noticed in the last couple of seasons is that this divison we play in is well suited to "physical" sides. look at yeading and hampton last season

braintree also fit the bill this season and from what you say heybridge used those tactics yesterday

I havent seen too many refs clamp down on these tactic especially this season.

Obviously disappointing to go out the Trophy, but if we are going to move up the league we are going to need a few more players. We've got 14 fit players (I think?), including 2 keepers and a few that fans have questioned them being in the side. I think we need a couple more in, particularly in midfield to cover for Parker going back, Dormer getting injured and Hunter not being fully fit.

Firstly, I thought we played more than well. No lack of anything, and if they had a lesser keeper than Nicholls between the sticks, we would've got something from the game. Secondly, Heybridge have always been a team of cloggers. I thought with the big bucks they've splashed out this season they might have offered more, but sadly no, clogging it is. Thirdly, how is a two-footed lunge on another player (don't worry about the ball, it had long gone), a potential leg breaking tackle, not a red-card? The constant cheating and time-wasting towards the end from Heybridge (which the ref allowed), was very Braintree-esque! Fourthly, every single Billericay player deserved the applause at the final whistle, the ref deserved the flak, and the 'clogging swifts' deserve the pitiful support they get from the Heybridge public.

You guys are amazing! Yes it was a physical game but hey, you gave as good as you got! - It was a cup derby what do you expect? There were strong challenges going it at both ends and from where I was waching your backline wern't averse to the odd 2 footed challenge and 'professional foul' when we were through. Yes Barbers challenge looked hard but there were many fouls comitted by your team at the other end. Get some propoertion. Cloggers? Pot/kettle/black. You had the edge in the first half but lost it completely in the second and but for our woeful finishing you would have been on the end of a much bigger beating. See ya in the league.

"You guys are amazing!"

Cheers, we know.

"averse to the odd 2 footed challenge and 'professional foul' when we were through"

When, who, where?

"Yes Barbers challenge looked hard"

[****!!****] potentially leg-breaking, still, that's the Heybridge way.

"but for our woeful finishing you would have been on the end of a much bigger beating"

Jog on mate. Man of the Match, as given by your reporter in the NLP was Paul Nicholls. He kept you in the game.

"See ya in the league."

Certainly will.

Your club and supporters would get much more respect if you didnt whinge everytime you were beaten. Blame the ref, blame the cloggers blame the announcer blame the quality of the oppo's keeper and the inadequaccies of your own keeper pitch.......You lost, nuff said.

hahahaha! Swift fan! aww i love the comdey value of reading that... How on earth do you work out it should of been more? you second goal did stop our momentum correct...other than that your only other chance was a rcay reject hitting the bar! you werent watching the game as us mate we dominated you for 90 mins and rightly so Nicholls got man the match if it werent for him you could of been on the end of a 4-2 5-2 scoreline!

bring on the league we'll take 3 points from you and your pathetic support!

Swift fan, the difference between the tackles was that our players stood up to some bloody awful challenges and yours went down at the slightest touch. Football is a physical game but the way you played it (with the ref) turned the beautiful game into a game for charlitans, cheats and whimps. The awful thing was that your whole team resorted to it which only goes to show that your manager gave out those instructions to all the players....

Well, you'll get yours and I only hope we're the team to dish it out.

Okay, I’m back from my annual Swiss trip and the bank account seems to be holding up nicely…AND I managed to win a few brownie points from Mrs Tc with a slight detour to the land of champagne.

So, the loss of rent from Chelmsford won’t be too much of a disaster after all.

As usual I took a scenic route through the Alps…I thought it was all over when this officious looking French tart at border control asks me to park up so she can conduct a search… I had taken a bit of a liberty with the cargo this time what with the rioting an all…well I figured the French had enough on their plate this weekend and I could sail through, no questions asked.

Anyway, as it turned out she was more interested in the laundry than conducting a proper search so all ended well

Except for the closed M20 of course…it took me 3 hours to get home from Ashford Kent.

I hear our boys put in a good performance Saturday (both on and off the field ) and deserved more, and from what I’ve read, you guys feel the same.

Having said that, we can’t rest on our laurels, and we will continue to shuffle and strengthen the team when opportunity arises.

Looks like I missed a lively forum whilst I was away…and Gazz, what’s this about you and Claret Babe meeting for a drink…

Ah well, the Missus and I had a lovely chat with the supporter from Chav land and her mates...Gave Ryan and I some insight into the land of Chav City and how disgruntled she was with their operation this season...may be picking up some more supporters TC .

Anyway, nice to see you're back and rested...typical French, more interested in looking at your "soiled smalls" than your contraband .

Was a good weekend for English sport. For once all the national sides did our country proud.

Unlucky lads as said the goalkeeping was the difference. Great game to watch though....speaking of which, it does seem that the angle you watch the game from does give a totally different perspective.

From the stand, a few incidents looked totally different.

The challenge on Nathan that upset everybody looked like a push from behind from the stand but why did Gary and Leon each have to charge 50 yards to get involved.

The injury to Ross (right in front of the stand)was just a 50/50 challenge, nothing late or malicious.

What our travelling fans behind the goal ( and of course the referee who was useless ) missed was a diabolical stamping on the face of a Heybridge player by Pat which deserved a straight red (hope the match was not being videod or he would be cited for violent play)

We played by far the best football and I think it is a shame that we allowed ourselves to be drawn in to a scruffy last 10 minutes of aggro when we should have been concentrating on an equaliser.

The ref had a lot to answer for, he was pathetic (and probably realised at the end that the fans were not best pleased!)but we are a good footballing side with the ability to rise above this provocation.

Thought Nathan and Danny looked sharp, Matt Game didn't stop running. Don't quite agree with comment about Simmo, his passing was poor but he can deliver a great cross and corner and in my view he deserves a few games in a row to really see if he can settle as an influential player.
