The "No Banter" Thread

Okay...we're getting into "good will to all men" territory here...

 

As we all know, our nearest rivals are leaving New Lodge after a stay of 7 years. We all know that over the past two seasons our relationship with them has been spikey at best, all out war of words at worst (complete with fat jokes... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/icon29.gif" alt="" />)

 

But as Tc has said, to some, banter comes as a less than funny angle and upsets some...so, for the sake of those that can't stand the heat and are now leaving, lets make this thread a "non banter" thread. A veritable Chelmo love in. No derogatory comments will be allowed, no insults, no tennents, squatters or pikies....

 

Can we do it?

 

Well, I'll kick it off with my first memory of Chelmsford. It was our 2 - 1 home win in a F A Cup preliminary round. New Lodge was rammed, if I remember rightly and at the time Chelmsford City was a Southern League side. We were Athienian, I believe. Weather was hot...a great day!!!

 

Since then, I can say, I have kept an eye of them. A club with a lot of prestige considering where they came from to where they find 'emselves now...Oh, hang on...that's the problem............. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I would have to say since its been a few years since an aldershot or canvey clash chelmsford games have been my faveourite of the last few years, they are a well supported team and the games are always entertaining wheather were winning 4-2 or losing 3 - 1! Im looking forward to the opening of MP as ill have shortest journey there and back (including chelmo fans probably) not sure mum will approve of all the traffic though
