FT v Tooting

Not the best performance but a workable one. The game itself was a scrappy affair with Tooting opening the scoring. Some shoddy defending and Millard rooted to the line gave Tooting the chance.

We only had to wait ten minutes before Pat Saps put us on a even footing and then in the second Macca and Nathan. Nathan's goal was down to some superb football by Hockkers, who, when he came on for Tom Poole went outto enjoy himself. Quite a few occassions he left his marker.

As I said, not the best performance (when you compare to the performance against Hampton) but enough to do the business. In many ways possibley a more difficult game than the one coming up against Redbridge as Tooting are on the way up and Ford....oooopppppssss....Redbridge are on the way down.

Well done the lads!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

the lady came first eh Tom!!

Anyone else think that by the time the ball had dropped for Pat to head it he could have kicked it in!!! unlike pat to head a ball at knee height!

Thought we were good for the win, scrappy game, and when we did get the ball down and pass we looked good. Think Tooting were ok, but i think we were simply too strong. The lads put in a good solid performance and a win is a win. Grood stuff, well done and a tough choice between Kerrers and Gamo for my man of the match.

I would say Tooting were better than a few teams in our league. So, a good win methinks. How is Hockers???

When Hockkers came on last night he was [****!!****] awsome!!!

The reason he was playing was that this game was the perfect opportunity to rest him and give Tom a game.

The highlight for me was to see Danny Hockton looking so positive and hungry for the game and combining with Nathan for a tap in - first tie we've seen that for a while EXCELLENT

I also though Matt Game was excellent particularly in second half when he had the opportunity to combine with Tarkan who is proving to be a class act.

The only negative I felt was the tactic (tried before) of playing a very left footed player Ross Wareham on the right. He has worked his socks of this season and is rewarded with a place in the side but this should not be at the expense of tactical balance. We seem to have a bit of a left footed surplus at present.

The win was obviously the main thing, but not a great performance. We looked shaky at the back at times, when we played the ball on the floor we looked good, but at times we were very wasteful with possession. Matt Game and Nathan Elder were definitely the stand out players and we improved in the 2nd half. With Braintree and AFC Wimbledon getting knocked out we could go all the way.

I thought we played pretty well as it goes - particularly 2nd half. Don't forget there's every chance that Tooting will be playing Ryman prem next season and I reckon they'd do ok.

1st half was pretty even but 2nd half we raised our game a notch and pulled away from them. For me the key thing was bringing on Dorms and Hockers - we kept possession better and didn't get out muscled in key areas of the pitch.
